couple updates

Landon seems to know his left from right. Of course it could just be that when I ask him he guesses correct.

Landon likes standing on one of his chairs in the kitchen so he can see what we are doing when we're cooking or just doing stuff in there.

I still have a quite a bit of nausea. I seem to eat crackers throughout the day and that helps some. I'm also definitely more tired than I remember being when I was pregnant with Landon. This will all get better though. It's amazing that in the next month all of the major organs will be formed and I'll be moving to the second trimester.

Seems like there is a magnet to come back to Texas. Two good friends of mine Jaime Anderson (Folkert) and Beth Hamilton (Broadwell) are moving back to Texas in the next couple months. I also heard from a friend Tina in New York that she's interviewing in Texas for a consulting job. It will be good to have them closer to home.

Landon's First Shower

Landon decided that he wanted to take a "shower" for some reason on Friday night. He kept saying take shower. So I got in a tshirt and shorts, turned the water on pointing to the wall and he took a shower. He wasn't to sure but liked feeling the water with his hands. He did ok even with washing his hair. Of course when we went upstairs to get ready for bed he still wanted to take a bath. I guess it wasn't that fun because he hasn't asked for another one.

Saturday we had a fun lunch to celebrate my birthday. Landon, Janice, Cindy, Nanny and Mom all went to a tea room in Richardson. It was great. I even got to go to a movie with Mom that afternoon. We went to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was a good movie, but much more graphic than expected.

Saturday night Lady, Landon and I went to the pond in our neighborhood. We fed the fish bread and walked around the area. There were some older boys there that were digging in the dirt making mud balls to use in their sling shots (a little scary). Landon was helping them dig some and then poring rocks over his head. Lady tried falling the water while she was trying to get bread from Landon for herself. I got her out before she completely fell in but her foot got wet.

Landon has started saying more words together. This weekend Greg and Doug went to the Maroon and White A&M Football game in College Station. Greg brought back a new A&M shirt for Landon. When Greg showed him it was a new shirt for Landon and he said "new shirt Landon". It was cute.

Focus

I seem to be feeling better overall. Eating crackers as I wake up and through the day helps most of the time. I got pretty tired today though and I'm still stuffy.

Landon has started having conversations with himself. We can't always understand, but it's like he's asking himself a question then answers OK.

Landon seems to be eating more. I guess he's in a growth spurt. Sometimes we'll try to tell Landon to focus on something like holding a cup or coming down the stairs. Tonight I was talking to Greg and opening a freeze dried fruit snack for him. Landon told me to focus. It was pretty cute.

Landon is talking to me more on the phone now. He will say hi Mommy and tell me a little about what he's done during the day. He'll also say more phrases that we do. Like we'll say you can have a couple more fish, and he'll say couple more.

First Sonogram

I still have allergies or something. My nose is stuffed up and I cough every once in a while. This weekend I took naps when Landon did which means I got extra 2-3 hours a day. This was good until last night when I couldn’t sleep.

I still got up and worked out this morning, and I’m glad I did. I felt better even with little sleep.

I still get nauseous in the mornings and evenings some too. It’s definitely worse this pregnancy, but I will make it through!

We had our first sonogram today. It’s only one, YEA! Baby is right on schedule and the official due date is November 29^th (Saturday after Thanksgiving). Our first sonogram with Landon was a couple weeks later so we could see arm buds. Since I’m only 7 weeks along the baby is basically a little 1 cm bean. We could see the baby’s heart is beating and the doctor said that once you see a beating heart that chance of miscarriage is 1%. It’s 25% prior to the heart beating (I thought that was interesting).

Landon's growing

We’ve bought Landon some clothes and new shoes for the summer. He’s wearing size 8 shoes, and he’s wearing 3T sleep clothes, 2T pants/shorts, and 2T/3T shirts.

I've been trying to measure his height every month. For the last two months he had grown very little, but April he had grown over an inch. I think he's about 35inches tall.

Dinner with Dave, Tracy & Doug

We went to dinner with Dave, Tracy and Doug at Lavendou in Plano (wonderful French restaurant). We were discussing if anyone wanted a cocktail before dinner and Greg and I both declined. So Tracy asked if we had any news to share, and we said yes that we were pregnant. I don't think they were expecting that response, but it was a good lead in to our news.

Feeling Pregnant

I’ve had more nausea this week. I basically don’t feel great in the morning, eat lunch and feel better for the most part in the afternoon. This morning I ate a cracker as I woke up and that seemed to help. I also have allergies so my nose is running. We’ve been having storms at night so with that and Landon crying for a couple minutes early in the morning I haven’t been sleeping great. I’m sure it will all get better soon. J

I actually threw up last night. That was not fun. Last night and the night before, I was pretty sick before going to bed. We figure it’s because I’m taking a prenatal and 2 OMEGA3s right before bed. Of course they recommend drinking a full glass of water and taking with food. I’ll have to try that even though I’ve been taking the vitamins at night for years.

Mommy's Birthday

I had a great Birthday. We got up and Greg and I worked out and Landon had fun playing at the gym kids room, we went to lunch at Snuffers, and then we went shopping at the outlet mall for shoes for everyone. Grammy and Gramps took us to dinner at Maggianos which was WONDERFUL. We'll get to have leftovers for dinner tonight, YEA.

Landon has started saying ok to just about everything. If he wants to do something or agrees with you he says ok. If he doesn't want to do something or disagrees he says no. It's pretty cute. Landon's also doing more to put his pants on. He can help put his legs into pant legs and he tries pulling them up.
