Dr Appointment

Had an appointment with Jeanean. Kasey's heartrate was about 135 and strong. Friday Sept 19th I had several contractions in the afternoon. After laying down for a while we went to Oktoberfest, but on the way home I had about 5. Needless to say when we got home we got Landon to bed then I went to bed.

Things were much better on Saturday, but it had made me a little nervous. Jeanean wanted to check my cervix just to make sure, and all is well.

I'm doing well overall. Still working out, but starting to feel aches and pains a little more.

Oktoberfest, A&M vs Miami Game

We went to Oktoberfest this weekend on Friday night and on Sunday. We got to eat some good German food, and Greg got to drink some German beer. Landon got to have some fun as well. He got to go on a couple rides including his first roller coaster. Daddy went with him since I couldn't go. He got to go on the carousel a couple times and a few other rides where he go to ride around. Landon also go to see the dogs from the SPCA and watch part of a magic show. We let Landon walk (often holding hands because there were so many people), and this was the first event like this that we didn't bring the stroller. On Sunday Landon also got to get in the water they have and enjoyed splashing around and going up and down the stairs.

Saturday we went to A&M for the A&M vs Miami game. While we all felt the team had improved, it still wasn't pretty to watch. We did have fun tailgating before the game and a little bit afterwards.


Landon has started doing some new things. He now will feed Lady. He can poor the food into her bowl. He's also deciding more what he wants to eat. Especially at breakfast he'll sometimes throw a fit if he can't have a waffle. We still try to change it up some, but we also have to pick our battles. Landon can drain the water in his own bath. For a while he was taking a shower, but the last few nights he's taken a bath. He's also taken a bath in the smaller bathroom upstairs that will become his when he moves room.

Vacation

So our Turks and Caicos trip is canceled, but I really wanted to take a trip with Landon to a beach before Kasey is born. We had and idea that Landon and I would go on a cruise with my parents and uncle. So we were about to book it and the travel agent found out I was pregnant. The cruise line has a rule that you can't go unless you are 24 weeks pregnant or less. I guess a higher power is trying to tell me I need to stay home and not go on vacation.

Landon had his first injury report today from school. He fell while playing outside and got a boo boo. He's ok though, and the teacher said that he didn't cry but told her he fell down. They wiped it off, put a bandade on and sent home a note saying what happened.

Tonight we had our Allen TI moms playdate. Here are a few pictures from tonight.

Couple updates

Things are going pretty well. It's getting a little harder for me to move around and I'm getting more tired, but other than that I feel pretty good. Here is a picture of Landon and I on 9/8/08 (last Monday). Landon is wearing his Tony Romo Jersey from Grammy and Gramps.

I had an appointment with Jeanean last week (Monday 9/8/08). All is well with Kasey. She does seem to be moving more. I have started to see the waves on my stomach which are funny to see. Her heartbeat was about 148-150. I've gained about 8 pounds total which is pretty good.

We found out earlier this week that the resort we were going to beginning of October in Turks and Caicos is now closed until November 15th. They got hit by hurricanes Hanna and Ike and had enough repairs to close for an extended amount of time. Needless to say since I'm due November 29th we will have to cancel our vacation. I'm REALLY disappointed that we won't get to go. Maybe we'll get to go there some day.

I don't think I put this in before, but the last month or so Landon has decided that he likes salad. He used to not like tomatoes at all, and now he'll eat them by themselves. He also likes lettuce and ranch dressing.

Last Sunday (9/7/08) Landon decided he didn't want to take a bath, but take a shower. We gave him his first shower in the bathroom upstairs (he's had a few downstairs before), and most of the week he wanted to take a shower over a bath.

Landon also likes taking pictures. Of course they end up being a part of a leg or the floor, but he likes taking them.

Today we went to Kid to Kid to see about Halloween costumers. An old neighbor was there looking for outfits for her kids to play dress up. I thought that was a good idea so we got a dog outfit, a pirate outfit, and Elmo outfit. Landon can use one or more for Halloween and play dress up. He seemed to like all of them. Greg also started painting Landon's new room today. For those that have been to the house. We are transforming the Lion room into Landon's new room. We're painting it blue. He got a lot of painting done, but the edges (the hard part) he'll work on tomorrow. Landon of course wants to help with everything. He says he likes his room and of course wanted to sleep in there.

Good weekend

Saturday we got to go see Logan. Audrey's parents were in town so Grammy, Landon and I went to Gymboree and then went up to see them. Logan seems to be doing very well, and growing like crazy. Landon got to hold Logan for a minute. He wanted to hold him, then when he was holding him tried to sneak out from behind him.


Saturday afternoon we had Dave, Tracy and Doug over to watch the A&M and US soccer World Cup qualifying game. Greg cooked out, and Tracy brought over some really good guacamole and veggie & bean salad. Luckily both A&M and US won. We had a good time hanging out with everyone, and Landon was good entertainment.

We tried big boy pants (underwear) on Sunday. Landon was excited to wear them, but had an accident and wanted to put a diaper on. We'll try again later.

soccer game

Greg took Landon up to Pizza Hut Park area on Friday Sept 5th to see the second team play (they always do this the day after the game). The game was at the practice field and not at the stadium. Landon got to run around. He was playing with his new FC Dallas soccer ball, and Greg said he was kicking the ball and then kicked it into the goal. We haven't really taught him to kick the ball into the goal, but I wasn't surprised since Greg has soccer on almost every day. Landon also got to meet Kenny Cooper (one of the FC Dallas players that will probably be playing in Europe next year).

Bradley Classes

I'm in training now. We have started a Bradley refresher class. We'll go to 4 classes, and then do all of the exercising and practicing to get ready for the birth. With Landon I had a completely natural birth (no drugs or interventions), and I hope that Kasey's birth is very similar. Hopefully at least a little shorter but we'll see.

We have several exercises to do in the evenings and I practice relaxing so the bedtime routine has gotten much longer. I also seem to need more sleep, but that can be from several things.

We have a pretty busy schedule, and lots to do to prepare for Kasey so hopefully I can keep up.

We have gotten paint and new comforter for Landon's room, and we'll start getting his new room ready soon. We'll move the crib and changing table downstairs for a while, and then probably prepare the nursery after Kasey is born. The plan is to use Landon's furniture and decor for Kasey. I decided that spending $200+ for new decor is probably not worth it since we'd get new stuff anyway when she turns Landon's age. Also, I still don't think Landon pays attention to the decorations in his room.

Daddy got to feel Kasey move

Wednesday (9/3) night before we went to bed, Greg was able to feel 1 little kick from Kasey. Usually she would stop kicking when I would tell Greg to try and feel. Landon did that as well, but Greg was able to feel Landon much earlier.

I've tried getting Landon to feel, and he will put his hand on my belly for about 5 seconds. Then he'll start kicking to show me what she is doing. I can't wait until he can actually feel her or see her move.

I'm in my 3rd trimester now. Seems like time has flown. After next week's appointments I start going to see the midwife every 2 weeks. Kasey will be here before we know it.

First Day of PreSchool

Landon's first day of school was Tuesday September 2nd. He will be going to school on Tuesday and Thursday for 2 1/2 hours for the entire school year. There are 10 students in his class including Landon. He has 2 teachers Miss Amanda and Miss Melinda.

Last Thursday we got to meet the teachers and check out the classroom with his other classmates. It was neat to see everything and watch the kids playing.

Landon seems to like school and his teachers. They get to go outside, have a snack, have circle time, do art, music and story time.

Landon did pretty good his first day, they went in and started playing and we left. He didn't get upset and the teacher said he did good when she put him into the car.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a busy weekend, but had a good time.

Friday night we went to eat at Hibachi Rock in Allen. Landon tried eating with chopsticks, and actually picked up a couple things it was cute. His favorite is the tofu from the soups. He also ate several onions from the hibach

Saturday was the first A&M football game. We were excited and got our A&M shirts on. We took Landon to Grandma and Pops house, and told him he would get to see Doug, Dave and Tracy. He was very excited, but he thought he was going to get to go with us. He asked Grandma multiple times about him going to the soccer game (we're still working on the difference between football and soccer). He did get to go to Gymboree with Grandma and Aunt Cindy though, and sounds like they had fun.

The game was not great at all. It was pretty hot prior to the game, and the Aggies didn't play very well. I guess there is room for improvement. We got home about 1:45am after the evening game, but we were able to sleep in some on Sunday.

Sunday night I got to have a fun girls night out. A sorority sister from college just moved in to the area so we had a good reason to get together. We had dinner at Mi Cosina and then went to get some ice cream. We had a good time talking and catching up. Here is a picture.













Monday we tried to sleep in some, but Landon got up about 7:40am. At least that's when we heard him. Greg said he was sitting at the top of the stairs so he might have been up for a little while. I had another night of waking up about 2:50am and didn't go back to sleep until after 5am.

We had Grammy and Gramps over for a cookout and to hang out. Greg cooked burgers, BBQ chicken and salmon on the grill. Landon got to play outside with a sprinkler toy that Grammy brought over. He also helped make dessert, corn and helped Daddy grill. With the dessert he got to do the eggs which made a mess, but he had a good time. Everything was great and we enjoyed it.

Monday night we went to a restaurant near us called Brio. I think we were all still kind of full from lunch, but we went anyway. We brought home at least half of our meals. There was a couple there that as they left they came by to comment on how behaved Landon was. I think we were a little surprised since Landon kept wanting to get up and didn't want to eat much. It's still nice to hear something like that from strangers.

When we go to restaurants Landon wants to pay the bill he'll give the bill with credit card to the waitor or waitress. He enjoys it, and they usually respond well and bring the bill back to him. Today the lady asked for his ID (because our credit cards say check ID).

Landon also likes having mints after dinner like we do. I usually share my mint with him and he seems to enjoy that. On the way home he was talking about the sun going down and it getting dark, and he said the sun goes down and the moon comes up. I was pretty impressed that he knew that.

Kasey is doing well. She seems to move more and more, but no one else has gotten to see or feel her move. I'm kind of sad about that, but there is still time. When she moves around it doesn't last very long so it's harder to get others to feel or see.

This afternoon we tried keeping Landon up later since he has to stay up past 2:30 tomorrow for school. He was ok, but then didn't want to go to bed. He ended up sleeping at the top of the stairs after I came downstairs to take a nap myself.
