December 2013 updates

Apparently I never posted this.  Probably because I just finished typing my blog entries from the cruise today.  Better late than never.

12/31 - They boys went to Atlanta with Doug for the A&M game so Kasey and I had a few days just us.  We took the boys to the airport in the morning.  Unfortunately had to wake Kasey up.  Then we ran a few errands getting dog food and some donuts for breakfast.    We got ready for the day, and then I had to run to work for a little while to print some stuff to get ready for my trip.  Then we had lunch with Grandma.  We then went home to hang out with Patch for a little while.   We had a block new years party to go to.   We all had snacks and drinks.  The kids took off playing and having a good time.  Luckily I got Kasey down to eat a little bit.    About 8pm we had a pretend new years with hats and blowers for the kids.   We headed home after that so Kasey could get some rest.

I started watching the A&M game which wasn't a good thing at the time so I decided to watch one of the cheesy Christmas movies I had recorded and never had time to watch.   It finished and I went back to the A&M game just in time to see them take the lead at the end to win the game.  Gigem Aggies.

I decided to let Kasey sleep in my bed just for fun.  Thinking maybe she's sleep in a little longer.   That didn't work.  Took her a little while to settle down, Patch and I woke her up when we went to bed, and then Greg's alarm woke us up at 6:30 (he left it on which I have done many times when going out of town) and I don't think she went back to sleep.   I let her watch some TV so I could sleep in a little longer.

Landon got to go to Ruth Chris with Greg and Doug.    He got to hang out with the guys watching football during the day.   By 3rd quarter of A&M game Landon really wanted to go.  It was late for him and A&M wasn't doing so well.   As usual Greg said no (We don't leave A&M sporting events early).  It all ended well.

12/30 - After our Cruise we had our Christmas back home.  We started off the day taking breakfast to Grammy and Gramps.  Greg made a great egg and crescent roll quiche which was great.  We all had coffee, hot chocolate or apple cider on the cold morning.   Then kids got to open presents from Grammy and Gramps.  One of the things they got was an Easy Bake Oven - oh the memories.  They made some cookies in it which were pretty good.   Landon brought over his Chinese Checkers from Santa so we played that, and then we played new scrabble game that Grammy and Gramps got Landon.  We had fun, good food and family time, and took a few pictures as well.  Kasey got a Get Well baby that tells her mommy she's sick and Mommy can give her medicine, a bandaid or just make her feel better.  Landon of course got Lego.  They got some other fun crafts, books and toys.
We headed home and then went to grab some lunch at Panera.   Silly kids have lots of energy. 
We headed home for some laundry and packing for the boys and then we had our own little Christmas at home for the rest of the gifts for kids.  They got a few games to share including Disney Apples to Apples.   Kasey got to open her just like home cleaning cart.  The kids decided that every other Monday when the housekeepers don't come they will clean the house.  It has a little vacuum that sounds like a vacuum but doesn't suck, a spray bottle and mop and scrub brush and broom and pan.   they went around cleaning the floors which was ok until there was water all over the floor.  We went back to more pretend cleaning.

That evening we went to have Christmas with Greg's family.  We had Mexican food which I've been craving since we got off the cruise.   Landon got another Lego and Kasey got some clothes and gift certificate to the salon we go to.

Kasey and Landon both got a big keyboard from Grandma and Pops.  We'll have to start piano lessons next year.

Kids said they had a great Christmas.    We  stopped listening to Christmas music and told the kids no more singing Jingle Bells which they do a lot.  


12/29 - We got up about 7 (although Greg had been up since about 5:30am), grabbed breakfast with mom, dad and aunt Mary.   I finally got new CD for pictures (which of course was missing the whole family picture when I got home).

Our number was supposed to be called at 9:30 but it was called about 8:45am.   We headed out got our luggage, went through customs, found the bus to our car and were on the road about 9:30am.  We had one rest stop to potty, quick lunch and Wataburger and went home to unpack.   Then we headed to Greg's grandmother's house to visit with her and some of his cousins and aunt/uncle.  Then we went to pick up patch and had quick dinner with Grandma and Pops.  We headed home to sleep in our own beds.

12/28 - Last day of the cruise and day at sea.   Of course kids woke up at 6am.  We went to breakfast I think before 8 with Grammy, Gramps and Mary.  We were glad Mary was starting to feel better.  After that Grammy and I went to do pictures.  Then we headed up to the pool.  We started in the hot tub then kids wanted to swim in thebpool.  Then they started a bean bag toss competition.  Landon and Greg entered as a group under the name Johnny Football.  Greg got them through the first round, and then Landon carried them and they won the whole thing.  In final round Landon got 2 in the hole for 6 points vs the other teams 5 points.  They were so excited and got little gold medals.  We had some lunch @ the pool.   Landon really wanted to do family scavenger hunt.  Kasey had a break down during it and we did ok but the team that won was a family over 6 members who kept having people bring stuff long after the time was up.   I had to explain to Landon how cheating was wrong.  Kasy was napping so Greg and Landon went to the pool area with David, Cheri, Craig and Lynne.   As we got closer to the US the temperature dropped.  It was chilly up top but those in hot tub were ok.  Landon enjoyed hanging out having a Pina Colada & doing math with David.  Kasey woke up so we played Uno, Bunco and a little Left, Right, Center.  I needed a 15 minute nap Kasey went to visit Grammy.  I went to get Landon.  His towel was blowing away in the wind.  Landon went to change and then went to Grammy and Gramps too.   Next was shower time before dinner.  Everyone came to dinner but Mary.  She wasn't feeling well.  We had good dinner.  Very cool tricks from assistant waiter balancing forks on toothpicks, moving straws in circles using only another straw.   We sang Happy Birthday to David which he wasn't thrilled about!  I tried to take kids to a show - kept them up late and they cancelled the show for technical difficulties.  Landon loved the cruise - he said multiple times it was awesome.

Kids got towel animals most nights monkey, stingray, lobster, rabbit, etc.  They got paper or napkin animals every night at dinner. They got special drinks, tried strawberry daquiris, shirley temples, pina colada (Landon).   Tried new foods - excargo, lobster, meats with sauces and many desserts.
Kasey today was pretending to be Barbie on the phone, in high heels, firing people - not sure Barbie movies are a good thing.

Landon liked Jamaica and Kasey said she liked getting strawberry daquiri's.  Overall we had a great vacation.

Mom and Dad seamed to have a great time.  Wish Mary had felt better.

12/27 - We had breakfast with Grammy and Gramps.  Then we did a couple things around the ship and got ready for our Couzamel excursion.  We had dolphin encounter planned.  We got off the boat, did a little bit of shopping and headed to the encounter in one of about 20 taxi vans of cruise people.  We got checked in and ready to get in the water.  About 16 of us in a group walked onto a platform where water was up to our chests.   There were 2 dolphins in our area.  Ours was named Diego.  Each one of us got to pet the dolphin, have him kiss our cheek, kiss him on the snout and shake his fins, and have him jump up and touch our hand.   Of course they took pictures all along the way.  They also talked about some facts about the dolphins like their blow holes, ears, their skin sheds every 2 hours and heal 3x faster than humans.   They showed how fast they can swim and how they can jump.  Then each person got to choose to tell the dolphin to dance, spin around, sing,wave or do water fight (spitting water).   After that of course they take you into buy pictures right away.  Then we sat down for lunch - guacamole, hand fried chips, tacos and nachos - Yum.   Greg and I even had some Cerveza.  It was really good.   Then it started pooring rain.  We stayed under umbrella at our lunch table for a little while eating lunch.  I got pictures and we started walking along the property.  Landon wanted to go play on beach and Kasey didn't.   I took Landon to sand to play and Kasey and Greg went to walk through botanical gardens.  Landon got to play about 10 minutes and it started raining pretty hard.  We headed back to the front.   Greg and Kasey got to see crocodiles on their walk.  We took the taxi back in the rain.   Did a little shopping before heading back to the ship.  Kasey got a new purse made from candy wrappers and Landon got a little seal.  Then we walked back to the ship in the pouring rain.   We got soaked.   We went straight upstairs for dry towels and got in the hot tub.
After showers we headed to dinner.  8 of us were there (6 of us plus Craig and Lynne).  We had great dinner with lobster - yum.  We ate enough for those that weren't there.   Grammy, Gramps, Lynne, Craig and I went to the show - Savannah Jack.  They were really good.  We sang along with many songs.  Great group that writes for many artists and have some of their own.   They were great singing with guitar and fiddle.  After that Greg and I went out while Grammy stayed with kids.  We went to the pub for a drink then headed to the Quest - Game with groups - lets just say people were showing thongs, guys dirty dancing, bras were being taken off and guys were dressing up like women.   It was a good time :)  It was fun and we enjoyed it including seeing one of my cousins dress up like a woman.

12/26 - We woke up early and we were already in Grand Caymen.  There were 6 cruise ships coming in that day and we tried booking excursion to late so they were sold out.  We had breakfast just the 4 of us.  Then we headed into town with David, Cheri, Nina, Craig and Lynne.  We walked around doing some shopping and then headed to Margaritaville for a little lunch.  Kids were pretty tired and whiny.   We went to one place for tshirts after lunch then headed back to the tenders and ship.  It was raining a little but not to bad.  We got back and kids instantly wanted to call and go hang out with Grammy and Gramps.   So kids went to their room to play games and Greg and I got to rest for a little while.   After that we all had showers and had dinner just the 6 of us.  Greg and I stayed in and crashed early.


12/25 - Merry Christmas!  Little weird since wasn't our usual Christmas Eve and Christmas at home.  We were in Jamaica.  We got to see the ship pull into the dock from our balcony.  The pier crew was yelling Merry Christmas to everyone.  We went to breakfast with Grammy, Gramps and Mary.  We booked an excursion to beach in Montego Bay.  It was a private beach where we got chairs for each of us.  We paid $6 for an umbrella.  Included in the excursion was lunch - Jerk pork, salad, hush puppies with dessert and all the drinks you wanted.  The kids just wanted to play in the ocean and build in the sand.  Landon and Greg swam out to a big trampoline in the water.  They had to crawl on top of it and jump off.  I took Kasey for a few piggy back rides.  We spent some time sitting on the sand letting the waves hit us.  Overall we had a good time in the sun on the beach.  We had about  a 30 minute ride back to the boat.  Kasey fell asleep.   We all got showers and headed to dinner.  Kids got to have a little Christmas with Grammy and Gramps.   Mom and Aunt Mary came over to our room to be with the kids and get Landon to bed.   We met David, Cheri, Craig, Lynne and Nina at the hot tub for drink and hanging out.  We had fun and even did a little dancing.   Nina tried to get everyone to go out afterwards, but I think she was the only one that went.


12/24 - We got up after 8 and went to breakfast with Grammy and Gramps.  Landon and Gramps were wearing their matching Rangers shirts.  After breakfast we went up to the 14th deck to play games.  We played bunco for a little while then Landon wanted to play Apples to Apples.  Grammy and Kasey played Princess Go Fish while Landon, Greg, Gramps and I played Apples to Apples.  Then we went to get kids faces painted.  The lady was great.  She made Kasey's face a rainbow butterfly, and drew a fire breathing dragon on Landon's.   We had lunch again in the Windjammer.  Went to say hi to family by the pool and then headed down for ice dancing show.   Greg, Grammy, Mary, kids and I went.  It was the best show we had seen on this ship.  Fun music and themes for the ice dancing.  One act (I think from Russia) changes clothes several times on the ice very fast and some of them were very difficult to figure out they did the change the fast.  We had formal night at dinner so we got  picture of the whole family dressed up.  We had a time change so we let Landon go to the show with me that night.  It was a group from the 50s/60s (the original Drifters) so he wasn't to impressed, but the rest of us knew at least some of the songs.  He did have a Shirley Temple though.  After that took Landon back to get ready for bed.   Grammy and Gramps came over so Greg and I went out for a few drinks.  We walked around some and went to the piano bar to listen to music, talk and have a few drinks.


12/23 - We had breakfast with Grammy and Gramps in the dining room.  Kids got donuts, eggs, bacon and hot chocolate.   After that Landon and I went ice skating.  He did pretty well, but I was pretty much holding on to the edge the whole time.  I guess it's been a while or something.  After that we went to play miniature golf - Nina, David, Cheri, Craig, Greg and kids and I all went.   We all had some silly shots and laughs.  Some balls ended up in bushes or off the course completely, but it was fun.


Then we all headed upstairs to play games.  Most of us played Apples to Apples, and Grammy/Gramps/Greg and Kasey played dominoes.

Since we had 5:30 dinner we decided we should have lunch.  We headed to the Windjammer with Grammy and Gramps.  Then we headed to Grammy/Gramps room to play Go Fish.  Kids liked their room because it was bigger and had bigger balcony.  After that Grammy took kids for a walk around so I could take a little nap.  Grammy and I then took the kids to pool deck to hang out in the hot tubs.  The pools were closed for some reason.

There was a lot of movement in the ocean so the boat was rocking back and forth quite a bit.  I often get sea sick, but was ok surprisingly.   The water in the pools and hot tubs would move back and forth and flood the decks.   Just sitting there you could see the water moving as the boat moved.

Greg came up and got Grammy and I the drink of the day and we watched some salsa lessons on deck.  Then it was time to change for dinner.

With 12 of us now we were in a different dining room than the first night, 2 tables but waiter said he would put them together for the rest of the week.

I went to show with the family - it was ballroom dancing which was just ok.   We went to bed before 11, and slept til about 7:40 except for Grammy's 7am wake up call.   I had woken her up the previous morning.


12/22 - Cruise Day!   We got up about 6 and Kasey came down about 6:15am saying we told her she had to get up early.

We left about 7 to head down to Galveston to catch the Navigator of the Seas - Royal Caribbean.  We texted with Grammy and Gramps on the way down and met them in the parking lot.
Once we got through dropping off luggage we headed on the boat.  We had to get special arm bands for kids and drink packages for water and such on the way.  Our cabins were ready so we went and dropped off everything then headed to the Windjammer for some lunch.  Huge Buffet, what's not to like!

They always have safety drill before leaving and so we headed down for ours.  We got to our location and saw our cousin Craig and Lynne standing there.  We were surprised to see them and didn't expect them to be there.  No one on the cruise knew they were coming.  We had 12 in all from the family.  4 of us, my parents, my Aunt Mary, Cousins David, Cheri, Nina, Craig and Lynne.   Good times.   Mary, David,Cheri and Nina were at elevator it opened up and there were Craig and Lynne - Surprise.  After the drill we took them to my parents room to surprise them as well.

We had our first multicourse dinner with the kids.  Kasey tried spinach salad and liked it.  We told them we wanted them to order off the adult menu and try new things this week.  Landon did more than Kasey, but they both did good.

We got the kids to bed after dinner and I went out with the family.  We went to the first show which was intro and comedian, we went to watch some Karaoke which is always amusing, then we headed to piano bar for a while and ended up at the Casino.  Good times!

12/20 - We had a great dinner with the traveling crew.  We  went to Al Biernat's which had good food, fun atmosphere and great friends.

12/19 - what a fun day.  I worked from home in the morning.  Went to get Freebirds and had lunch with Landon at his school.  Greg and I went to Landon's class party at school which was fun with games, craft and snacks.  Landon wanted to stay and go to PE so I let him. Then I took Kasey to her dance class.  They played games and then performed part of the nutcracker which was really cute for 5 year olds.   The nutcracker gave all the girls a little candy cane.  After that Kasey and I went to get our hair cut.   We stopped for a little shopping and the parking lot was filled with birds.  Ugh.  They got bird poop all over the car and Kasey was not happy about it.  She wanted a wash down right then. We were in traffic on the way home so we didn't have time to get home for dinner with the boys.  We stopped for dinner at Razoos in Plano which was fun.


12/15 - Kasey had her Christmas dance recital today.  She had fun doing ballet and tap dances.  All of the grandparents were there to see her too.  Was a cute little show and they had cookies and lemonade afterwards.  Kasey was excited to get flowers.


12/14 - Today was the father/daughter dance.  Greg and Kasey went for the first time.   They seemed to have fun.  From what I was told they both danced and had fun :).  Kasey wore one of her new fancy dresses and Greg wore a suit.  They both looked very nice.   I put Kasey's hair in a bun which with a Bun donut is actually pretty easy.
while they were dancing Landon and i went bowling and then went to dinner just the two of us.  It was fun to catch up on what's going on in his life and for him to try to convince me of reason just like Greg.

We were discussing that if weather is bad before the cruise we will need to go down early and stay in hotel.  He said he didn't want to stay in a hotel, it was a waste of money with all the money we were spending on the cruise.  Sounded just like a little Greg :)

12/13 - Kasey had her friend birthday party.  She just had a few girls over for Girls Just want to Have fun party in pajamas.   They had pizza, watch Madagascar 3, we had to stop in the middle for some cake and a dance party, and then finished up the movie at the end.  It was fun.  first drop off party we've had for her.  I can't believe how big she's getting.  She was so excited and had a good time.
Landon got Knight of the week for 2nd time this school year.

12/12 - Greg made Kasey's birthday cake and I got to decorate it.   We made a butterfly out of Heart shaped cakes.  I think it turned out really cute.

12/8 - kids made a fort in Landon's room using comforter.  They put just about every pillow from upstairs and many stuffed animals in the fort with them.  We finally got out of the house to have dinner. Streets weren't great, but we needed to get out :)

12/7 - We are still stuck in house from ice on streets.   Next weekend Kasey and Greg will be going to their first father daughter dance.  She thinks they are getting married at the dance.  I've tried to tell her they are not.  Tonight as she's going to be she says, you know what?  I said what.  She said, your married days are over.  When I dance with Daddy we will be married and then I can kiss him.   I told her I'd fight her for him :)   Silly girl.


12/6 - Since had to stay home we all go to have breakfast and lunch together today.   Fun to get to see the kids some during the day.

12/5 - I had another crazy work week.  We had 80+ FAEs in town for training so I had work dinners Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.   All day trainings and evening events made me tired :)   thursday the weather started getting bad in Dallas.  It was almost 80 degrees on Wednesday and then was below freezing on Thursday.  It started raining, sleeting and didn't really stop.  so we woke up Friday morning to white ice outside and really cold weather.  Needless to say no school, and I'm working from home.

12/1 - We have an Allen event center about 10 minutes from our house.  They play minor league hockey, indoor soccer and have performance events.   I took kids to see 100 years anniversary of Disney with Disney on Ice.  It was great.  They had many of the princesses and their stories with some of favorite songs, Toy story, Lion King, Its a small World after all, and of course Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Goofy and the chipmunks

Christmas Letter 2013

Hello family and friends:

I hope this letter finds everyone doing well.   I’ve decided to save some trees and write a blog Christmas letter :-)

We’ve had a good year.   We’ve been keeping busy as usual. I’m still working for TI (working too much) and Greg is still working part time.   I traveled more than in the past few years – I went to China twice, Las Vegas, San Jose, Denver and was gone for few days 3 times in November.

I broke my pinky toe this year and had to have surgery on it.  The nurse in the hospital laughed when I came to check in.   All went well, but I ended up having to cancel a business trip to Brazil and had to go to A&M vs Alabama game on crutches and couldn’t put any weight on one leg.  I wouldn’t recommend it!  I’m still involved in the board/PTA at both schools but haven’t been able to do quite as much because of travel and work.  Hopefully next year when they are at the same school I can do more.
Greg went to London for a long weekend with the boys basically to watch soccer and hang out.  Greg has been doing some volunteering at the school.  He did Watchdog (basically being a male presence at the school all day to help out) and has helped me with my PTA role and done a few other things with Landon’s class.

We got a new puppy this year.   She was abandoned at an apartment complex and then brought to Pop’s clinic.  She was 5 pounds when we got her in September (when I was on crutches).  She’s now over 20 pounds and keeps us on our toes like a toddler.  Her name is Patch for the black/brown patch on her eye.  She’s very much a puppy and goes from crazy puppy to sweet puppy.

We had a couple vacations this year.  We went to A&M for a baseball tournament in March and also went for several football games in the Fall. Greg and I went just the two of us for a long weekend in Napa.  One of our favorite places to go.  We enjoyed ourselves and are just now getting all the wine in (we ask them to hold it so it doesn’t ship in Texas heat).   We also went for a week to Lake Tahoe with the kids.   We had a great time several firsts for the kids –sailing, hiking, rafting, Geocaching.  We also got to go to the beach, play putt putt and do other fun family activities.  We are also looking forward to family cruise around Christmas with my family to the Western Caribbean.  Grammy and I took the kids to the State Fair and to see the Lion King – both firsts for the kids.  We had a great time.

Kasey is now 5.  She goes from wanting to be 2 again and having everything done for her to wanting to be grown up with cell phone, car keys etc.   She keeps us entertained.  Kasey started back up with gymnastics again, but didn’t really like it after few months.  She is still enjoying dance – she’s doing ballet and tap and likes tap better.   She had her first dance recital – I used curlers on her hair that I used in high school and had fun putting a little make up on her.  We are very proud of her.  She has also been playing softball – Greg has been head coach in both the spring and fall.  The girls have had fun.  Kasey got a few outs, and was hitting pretty well for a while.  She’s also learning the game more.   Kasey is in PreK this year and seems to like it – she’s definitely a leader.  She’s also been taking phonics which she doesn’t want to practice reading at home but seems to keep making progress at school.  Homework in elementary with her will be interesting.

Landon is 7 ½ now.   Landon played soccer and baseball and did gymnastics in the spring, and then he only played on a club baseball team in the fall.   We don’t think we will stay on the club team and hoping to play with friends in the spring.   They were nice people, but the boys had to play up a level and it was not fun for them.  He’s going to play basketball again this winter with a friend which he really enjoyed last time he played.   Landon is also doing Cub Scouts which brings some fun activities to the mix.  He did his first pinewood derby this year and had fun making a Johnny Football car for the race.   His wasn’t the fastest, but did get a medal for decoration.  He’s doing great in school and loves reading and math problems.  He still loves legos  - Star Wars and Chima are his favorite.  In his AIM class (for gifted and talented) they are studying China this year.   I was able to set up a conference call with a colleague in China for them to talk to.  I also had some friends at work that went to several parts of China and took great pictures so I shared them with the AIM teacher to show the kids.  I think it’s great that they are learning about international places at this age.

November update

11/30 - I got to work out in the morning which was great.  Just a few of us there after Thanksgiving.   Then got ready and Kids and we headed to get Grammy.  We had decided to go to Magic Time Machine for fun.  I remember going there several times as a kid with my grandparents and friends and loved it.   We were talking that first time we went with my grandparents, we had Mork from Mindy and Mork as our waiter.   I remember my grandmother laughing so hard, we were all crying from laughing so much.   Unfortunately there were very few people there.  We had Nacho Libre for waiter, he was ok but couldn't understand everything he was saying.   We had a coupon that we had to spend a certain amount the use the coupon so we went big.  Landon got a crazy drink the bubbled (he didn't like it - sprite and orange juice).  we got the Roman Orgy which was a ton of food,  chicken and brisket, potatoes, vegetables and a bunch of fruit.  It was actually pretty good.  We had a great time.

After lunch we went back to Grammy's so the kids could play for a while.    Landon worked on a lego and then we got Grammy's Christmas stuff down.  Kasey and Landon helped Grammy decorate her tree which was fun.

Then when we got home we decorated our tree.  We did it upstairs this year to keep it away from Patch, who knows what she will do.   Kids had apple cider, I had egg nog and we played Christmas music while we decorated.  Kids had fun finding all their ornaments from over the years and putting them up.

11/28 - Kasey turned 5 years old today.  We told her she wouldn't really turn 5 until 3:28pm so she asked almost all day if she was 5 yet.  She found her new Rasor first thing in the morning.  Landon has one and they fight over it outside so we thought they needed a 2nd one.

We had some quick breakfast then spent time cleaning up the house to get ready for everyone coming over.   We had few things to cook and then we were ready.  We have 13-15 people at the house from noon til about 5.  It was nice for everyone to get to visit, eat good food and watch some football.
After lunch we sang happy birthday to Kasey with candles in pumpkin pie.   Everyone had good dessert - we had pumpkin pie, pecan pie, cherry pie and Jeff Davis Pie.   all good and homemade
We cleaned up a little and then opened presents for Kasey's birthday.   She had made little pieces of paper with scribbles and letters on them for each family that got her a gift.  It was pretty cute.  she was excited about her gifts and some of them Landon was even more excited because he was going to get to  play with them as well.

Over all it was a great day.  We have so much to be thankful for!

11/27 - I got to take the day off so we had good day.  We started off with family breakfast.  We all went  to lunch at Freebirds which we don't get to do very often.   Kids were funny fighting over who gets to order with which parent and who gets to sit by which parent.   After that Greg had to run a few errands so Kids and I went to Party city, Petco and Merle Norman.   At Party city we got a few things for Kasey's birthday and a craft for kids to make for Thanksgiving. They made little scarecrows which was cute.  Kasey also picked out a silly headband with candles that she wanted to wear.  She's really excited about her birthday.

We got home and had some cooking and cleaning to do.   Kids helped us make pies, and Patch was really trying to get homemade pie crusts.    Kasey is excited to have pumpkin pie for her family birthday dessert.  We are excited that it's part of what we'd make for Thanksgiving anyway.
Greg made fajita meat on grill, I made guacamole and we had a good dinner at home.  Then we watched Madagascar 3.  Kasey knows many of the lines and songs even the French one, and that's what she wants to watch at her small friend party.

11/24 - We had a great family day.  It was supposed to be snowing and really bad weather all day.  It never made it.  We started off making breakfast.  I made pancakes, Greg made cheese eggs and hot chocolate.   I think Landon had 4 pancakes and a bunch of eggs.   After breakfast we got ready for the day - quite slowly.  We headed to lunch at Big Easy which is one of our favorite.    After that we headed to Amazing Jakes for Landon's baseball end of season party.   I went to run a few errands while they started playing and then joined them.  All in all, we all had fun time.  got to do putt putt, car and motorcycle racing games, butterfly balloon backpacks, and unicorn balloon, both played lasertage, kids played a pirate shooting game together which was fun.  We even got some dinner.

11/23 - I finally went to work out for the first time since I broke my toe.    it was great to get to aerobics.    We went to lunch together and then Kasey and I went shopping together.  I found several dresses - some for cruise and some for work.   We had fun helping each other find clothes and trying them on.

We got home in time for A&M game.  Unfortunately they didn't win.  At half time kids went outside to ride scooters and bikes.  Patch got a short walk.
We went to quick dinner at Panera and got home to get kids in bed.  Landon decided he wanted to text Grammy then didn't want to go to bed.  He wants a phone so he can text us.  I told him he has to be 12.  He told me he'll just text from his ipad which I don't think he can do :)

11/22 - Landon had friend birthday.  Greg, Kasey and I hung out at home.  Kasey has a princess fold out that has image of Ariel scene, Belle scene and Cinderella.  The back has picture of river with bridge, grass trees and Cinderella castle.   Kasey decided she wanted to make up a story, and then we sang a song.  She sang the song, and then asked me to sing it.   She corrected me along the way, and then we sang it several times. :)

11/21 - we got done with our event a little early so we headed to the airport to see if we could catch early flight.  Unfortunately it was full so we had a long time til our flight.  We had few drinks and dinner then headed to wait for flight.  We left a little late and pilot said we'd land about 15 minutes late.   About 30 minutes before landing pilot came on saying that storm came through Dallas early and DFW was closed.  We landed in Longview to refill.  We sat on the tarmac, got fuel, had walkway come to plane.  They gave us option to get off if we wanted to - I don't think anyone did.   Then we flew back to DFW.  I ended up getting home after 12:30am - about 3 hour late.  Good times. Of course I had to be up for 8:30am meeting

11/20 - I had one more trip for the year.  Went to Louisville for few days.  Got to meet with partner and spend time training customer.

11/19 - We had Pixies end of season party.  One of the moms Meg was so nice to help plan it, make cupcakes and make headbands for the kids.  I asked for help with all the travel I've been doing.  So thankful that she took over.  We ate at 5th street pizza.  Girls got their trophies and fun dessert!

11/18 - Greg did his first watchdog visit at Norton.  It's a new program where dads spend the day at school helping out, being a male presence at the school.  He got to have lunch with Landon, help with his class a few times, play outside with kids, and help with a few others things.

11/17 - We had two friend birthday parties and it was a beautiful day.  The first party was at science place.  Kasey got to try out several experiments including exercising on little bike that created energy that you got to transfer to big area with push of button.  she had a good time.  All of the kids got to build with blocks and they tried to blow them down and shake them down.  The kids also got to make bubble snakes.  They took water bottle tops (1/2 water bottle), put dish towel and rubber band over.

Dipped it in bubbles and blew threw top of water bottle.  They had fun.

11/16 - Kasey had an early softball game.  It was little chilly but girls had good game.  Kasey is concerned that she's not hitting very well.  We tried explaining that she needs to practice and she'll get back into it.  

That night kids went to grandparents, Greg went to nice dinner with the boys at Capitol Grill and I went out with friends to see Pink.  8 ladies and I went had dinner at Mi Cocina, rented a limo and went to Pink concert.  We all had a great time.  I had to good of a time, but we still had fun.

11/15 - I was on another trip this week but got back Friday afternoon.  I had decided to stay with team I was with Thursday night and get up really early to drive 2 hours to airport to fly home.   I got up, but didn't take into account needed to defrost the car before leaving.  My timing was pretty tight returning car, getting through security and on plane.   Sometimes small airports are a really good thing.   I scheduled family pictures for us at Penney's.  It ended up being a good shoot for us and had fun.  Of course Greg would rather poke himself in the eye than get family pictures, but he hung in there.

11/14 - Kasey had another softball game tonight.  They played a team that was able to hit better than before.   At least is wasn't as cold for them as Tuesday.

11/12 - Kasey had softball game.  It was in the 40s so all the girls had coats, hats and gloves on.   Kasey got an out at First base and was pretty excited

11/8 - We headed down to College Station for game.  Greg and kids came to pick me up at work and then we headed down to College Station.  We went straight to Ninfas for some dinner.  Then we went back to Cory's house to get kids ready for bed.   Greg and I just hung out and had few beers at the house.  Kids came in early as usual the next morning.  We had some muffins and bananas for breakfast.   We all got showered and ready and headed to the Chicken.   We got there before 11 and got a table just barely.   Landon got some dominoes to play with.  We got some food and drinks.
 Doug's Brother Jeff was there with his girlfriend.

Dave arrived in town and we headed to the game.  A&M won, and we all decided to drive home after the game.  We got some Chick Fil A, put kids in pajamas and headed home.

11/4 - This week starts 3 weeks of work travel for me.   I'm headed to Phoenix Arizona for day and a half, Thief River Falls, Minnesota for few days, and Louisville, KY for few days.  Then of course its Thanksgiving and Kaseys Birthday.  It's going to be a busy tired month.

11/2 - Landon had baseball tournament.   The boys played hard, but weren't able to win games.  In one of the games Landon got an inpark home run.   He had pretty good hit and other team had some errors but we'll call it an in park home run.   He also got a few outs at 3rd base.   We were in the stands with blankets.

October Updates

10/31 - Fun Halloween.  Kasey was a red Princess, Landon was Johnny football and got to borrow hockey shoulder pads which was great.  Greg got pizza from Durkins and we met up with neighbors for dinner and drinks before pictures and trick or treating.    In past years we've gone around our block and that was great.  This year with kids getting older.  They ran from house to house.  Of course I was in heels and a dress because I didn't have time to change.  They went around our block and a little extra cul-de-sac.   Then we decided to keep going for a little while.   Kasey got to see her teacher who lives right by us, and few other kids have teacher in neighborhood so we went by their houses.  Then headed home.  Buckets full, wired from just few pieces of candy, but good times.

10/30 - I had kids try on Halloween costumes because I knew I'd be coming home straight from work for dinner with neighbors and trick or treating.  Kasey loved her princess costumer - We bought it to be ladybug girl, could have been a fairy, but she wanted it to be a princess.
Landon was Johnny Football.

10/28 - Busy day.  Worked from home in morning, shot video in Kasey's room all afternoon, helped Landon finish his pumpkin character project, made princess pumpkin with Kasey!

10/26 - Early A&M game so we had to get up and shower.  We grabbed some Shipley's for breakfast and went to our parking spot.  We met Dave and Tracy at  Tex Ags tailgate.  We had few drinks and got to see the studio they have there.  We took a picture since it is Doug's Birthday.

We started walking to Aggieland outfitters and saw some friends along the way.   Doug tried on maroon blazer as a funny.

We headed to the game.  Many people were late for this game for some reason.  Aggies started game well, had horrible 2nd quarter, then put it away in 3rd and 4th.  We will take the win!

10/25 - We decided to go down to College Station without the kids.  Greg took Kids and Patch to grandparents, got Doug and came to pick me up at work.  We drove down to College Station.  We went straight to Wings and More for a late dinner.  We headed to Northgate for some drinks.  We went to Duddleys and had some beer.  We headed back to the house about midnight.

10/20 - Kids and I went to the State Fair and to see Lion King with my mom today.  We had a blast.  We met and rode the train to the fair which worked out great.  We went in and had corny dogs, nachos and pictures with Tex to start it out.

Then we took the gondola ride from front of Midway to the back which was fun.  Landon and I went on fun roller coaster.  Landon wasn't to thrilled about it, I think he told Kasey afterwards that it wasn't that fun. Kasey really wanted to go on that one, but she wasn't tall enough.  She wasn't happy. Kids rode a few rides after that.  Kasey loved the roller coasters.  All 4 of us rode big Bear ride like tea cups.  It was fun, but we got dizzy.  Made me think of riding those rides as a kid.

Then we went to play some games.   Kids played balloon popping game and both won - I so remember doing that at Circus Circus.   Then we went to play the big water shooting game.   Kasey and I won and because several people were playing she got a pretty big stuffed animal.  She picked a bull dog :)  She was so excited.  We couldn't get a bigger one for Landon to win, but he won a few smaller ones.

Then we decided to eat a little.  Kids wanted ice cream so we sat and listened to some singers singing 80s music while kids made a mess with Ice Cream.   We all shared fried S'mores.  Then we had fried king ranch casserole and funnel cake - yum.

then it was time to head to the lion king which is awesome.  Landon really liked it, but Kasey lost interest pretty fast and asked me questions during the whole thing :)

Over all it was a great day.  The weather was perfect!

10/19 - We had to get up pretty early for a Saturday.  Alarm came on playing Bennie and the Jets which made me smile.  We got up, all of us got showers, got breakfast and we made lunch to take with us.   Kasey had 10am softball game.  It was a little chilly and Kasey probably needed more clothes on, but she survived.   Girls did pretty well in the morning.

We left immediately after the game.  Went home for use to change, let the dog out and head down to College Station.  We were on the road by 11:20am (A&M game was at 2:30pm).    We got into town, went potty, got snacks at the game, and got into our seats a few minutes before kickoff.  unfortunately the game didn't turn out so well.  We left at the end and headed back home.  We stopped on 2818 for gas and kids changed into their jammies.   Landon said he wasn't sleeping, but I think he was.  Kasey didn't want to go to sleep.

We went to pick Patch up on the way home.  Of course this woke up the kids.  Patch sat in my lap all the way home.

Kids went to bed.  Greg went to bed soon there after, and I had taken a nap in the car and needed to work so I was up til after 1am.

10/18 - We started off crazy weekend going to Landon's fall festival at his school.    All 4 grandparents came.  We started out in the gym with bounce houses for a while then headed to long line to get food.   While waiting in line I took the kids outside to play a few games.   They got to find a prize in hay stack & play ring toss with cowboy hats. They had BBQ this year which was fun.   After eating kids wanted to run around some more.  They had fun outside and at inside games, Got Ritas Ice then went back to the gym for more fun.

10/13 - Landon had a baseball tournament in North McKinney.  Of course his first game was at 8am so we had to get up really early to get out there.  It  was raining most of the day.   Boys didn't win the first game.  We weren't for sure when the 2nd game was.  We came back at 11:45, and then found out our game was at 2pm.   Greg and Landon went to bat some with the team.  Kasey and I hung out in car listening to music and Kasey pretending.

In Landon's 2nd game they didn't win, but they played hard.  They got several outs and several runs as well.  We were pretty excited since the team hasn't won any games or scored many runs

1012 -    Landon's alarm woke him up early so we got started early.   Landon and Greg went to cub scout pond clean up with the Pack.   Kasey had a birthday party to go to, and we weren't getting along to well this morning so Greg took a shower and offered to take her to the party.   That means Landon and I got to have lunch just the two of us.   He choose to go to Pluckers so we could watch some football.   He tried wings, and wasn't to thrilled, but he ate most of 4 of them.   We went to run a few errands and he asked if we could go to Toys r Us to look for legos for Christmas, so we went for a little while.  Of course now the only ones he wants are over $100.   The fun of having older kiddos.
After we all got home Greg and Landon went to watch his friends from school play baseball.   Usually when Greg watched them they don't win, but luckily they won today.

We decided to order pizza and stay in tonight.  The Aggies are on TV, but the kids have to go to bed since Landon has early baseball game in the morning.


10/11 - i went to physical therapy for the first time.   I get to start spending more time out of the boot - yea.  Probably do physical therapy for a few weeks and hopefully be done.

We all went to dinner at Mexigo, and then Kasey and I came home so she could get to bed.  Greg went with Landon, Mason and his dad to Allen Eagles football game.  Of course they got home late, but Landon had fun.


10/7 - Greg took Kasey shopping for some warmer clothes.   When she was trying them on Greg said she kept singing - I'm Sexy and I know it :)    I told Greg that wasn't my fault

10/5 - We were very lazy in the morning.  No aggie football, no kids sports.  We didn't even have breakfast.  We finally got up and got ready then headed to early lunch.  We went to fun little pizza place that makes individual pizzas.  They have one of the new fun drink things that you can get just about any kind of drink you want.

After that we came home and Landon and I headed to the Star Wars event at the library.   They had scavenger hunt, bowling, few other games and crafts to make cool paper bag puppets and finger print art.  We had fun.  Landon brought home a bag for Kasey to make (Princess Leah) and also Leah buns to wear on her head.

After that we went to a friends 4th birthday party.  It was set up like the state fair so there were fun games, snacks, tickets, and prizes.  Kids enjoyed it.  The most of the older kids ended up playing bouncy ball with Greg in the cul-de-sac.  They would bounce the ball back and forth and few times almost lost it or had to keep the kids from running in big street.   Everyone had a good time.
Then we came home, let Patch out and then went to dinner with Steiners and Doug.    We had fun.  Kids got to color, play with Elisabeth, dance, work on Gigem.   Of course they were up later than normal, but had a good time.  We also had some really good food and wine


10/4 - Landon had a friend birthday party so Greg and I took Kasey to Bavarian Grill for dinner.  Kids call it the train place because it has trains going along the ceiling.  They have great pretzel bread and beer and good German food.   Kasey was kind of in a mood, but she did pretty good.  We got home.  Greg got Kasey to bed and I went to pick up Landon at his party.  Got to hang out with some of the moms for little bit which is always fun.

September Updates

9/29 - Greg got home at 2:30am from the charter flight so he was not excited when we woke him up at 9am.   Once we did get up, we decided to go to the Greek Festival.  We had some good food, drinks, kids got to make sand art, we got to see some Greek dancing.  I even saw an old High School friend Mike Eaton.  Good times.

We got some local honey, and some Gyros to bring home for dinner.

9/28 - Kasey had morning game.  Girls played a little older team and played well.  Kasey got a 2 hits from pitch and ran well.   No outs this week, but girls played pretty well.

We went to have early lunch at Elkas where we haven't been in a while.    Then we went home so Greg could shower and head to the airport.  He was heading to Arkansas on charter flight for the A&M game.   Greg and Doug went.  

There was storm coming and we wanted to go to the store.  After trying to get kids to go for a while telling them it was going to rain we finally left.  Of course it  was more than just rain it was a down poor that started while we were in the store.  We came out, I got the car to pick up the kids.  Landon says, if I had known it was going to rain this hard I would have gone earlier.  :)

Kids voted that we have Papa Murphy's  Pizza for dinner.  We went to pick it up and came home to cook for early dinner before the Aggie game.   We watched the game for little while and kids went to bed.

9/27 - Greg decided to take Landon and a few friends to the Allen Eagle High school football game.  The boys went to Mooyah for dinner and then the game.   They got some treats and stayed til half time since  the boys don't stay up to late yet.  They had a good time though.

Kasey and I went to have some Italian food and came home to hang out with patch before bed.

9/23 - Patch did great overnight in her house (what we call her crate).  

 Got my stitches out of my toe, and Dr said everything looked great.  I can start putting weight on it as it feels ok.  Of course it hurts to put pressure on it so I'm not doing much yet.

9/22 - Kids woke up at 6:25 and 6:40 - silly ones.  Grammy made us a good breakfast and kids cleaned up and played some more.   Gramps went to pick Greg up, and he went to get patch so Grammy and Gramps could meet her.  She did well and was really cute.

Greg had been in College Station, and didn't sleep great Sat night.  Greg had a very busy afternoon.  Took Kasey to BDay party, friend picked up Landon for BDay party, then Greg went to that party.  He came home and took Landon to cub scouts.  Kasey and I tried to make dinner and take care of patch which was interesting.   Kasey took her out, and we had trouble getting her back in.  I made simple dinner for the two of us on crutches.  Then puppy went pee and poop on the floor so I'm getting on the floor with crutches.      Kasey had to take a shower and she wanted me to make sure her hair was rinsed ok.  So I locked puppy and I in bedroom while she showered.  I'm sitting on the floor again.  The puppy gets under the bed to find plastic and several dryer sheets - of course i can't reach her very well.   It was a little stressful on me and Kasey to get puppy out of the bedroom. 

Then we were ok and read a book before boys came home and it was bedtime.  Patch got tired and laid down to rest :)

9/21 - Kasey was supposed to have softball game, but it was rained out.   Greg got us packed up and took us to Grammy and Gramps.  He was headed to College Station for A&M vs SMU so we are staying with Grammy and Gramps.    Kids are having fun playing, making dessert - Landon makes his own creations, & eating freebirds.

We got kids bath/shower early, ordered pizza and watched the Aggies beat SMU.

9/20 - Called Dr because my foot was tingling and had some numbness.  They moved my appointment up to Monday and say to keep it elevated and on ice as much as possible.

We went to Grandmas to celebrate aunt Cindy's birthday.   We've decided  we are going to get a puppy.  One was abandoned and has been at Pop's vet clinic for a little bit.  She's really cute.  mostly white with a black eye and little black on her ear.  We have decided to call her Patch.  We went through several names - Biscuit, Spot, Bulls Eye, Susie.  We think everyone has agreed on Patch.  She's about 2 months old so she's very puppy.  Kids and Patch got pretty tired chasing each other around the house.  Kids are really excited to get a puppy. 

They even say they will help feed her, give her water and make sure she goes out.

9/19 - Kasey and the Purple Pixies had their first game of the season.  It was pretty warm and muggy, but the girls played great.  Kasey got a hit from pitch and got an out.  The Pixies got 4 outs total including a stop from pitcher and throw to 1st.  Pretty good for 4-5 year olds.

9/16 - tried yesterday to get off Hydrocodone, after football weekend I was pretty sore.  I took it over night then this morning took some tylenol.  I will probably take more tonight.  I'm working from home as much as I can to reduce crutch walking.

9/15 - Landon had baseball game in colony at 9am.  We had to be there at 8;15am.   Kids got up and we headed out.   Landons team had tough time.  They are playing up above their level.  Landon had a good hit but got picked up quickly.  He also had several good stops at 3rd base.   We headed home after the game to really rest for the rest of the day.  I got to take a nap while Greg took kids to the pool, then we just hung out at the house

9/14 - We got up got showers for everyone and got ready to go.   We headed directly to the parking garage where we had a handicapped parking spot.  We found a spot near elevators, and with some space for us to set up chairs and eat some lunch.  Kids weren't thrilled, kept telling them that mommy breaking her toe messed up a lot of things.  After lunch we headed down to go potty and to get ready for long walk to to stadium.  I had to basically walk around 1/2 of the stadium to get to the elevator.  I went slow, we stopped in the middle, but we made it. 

They let me sit down when we go by the elevators.  We took the first elevators up to 3rd deck.   Everyone went potty and then kids and rested in the shade for a little bit on the stairs.  I was pretty tired physically I went up 17 stairs and then scooted down on my butt 5 rows.  Then I scooted over to our seats.  We were there early enough that I could take my time and not worry about others.

We got to watch good game even though we didn't win over Alabama.  We put up most points on them since Saben has been coach so that was good.  We stayed til most people were out so I could take my time. Everyone went potty again, then we took the elevators down with no line.  Then it was back around the stadium to parking garage.  I was pretty tired and had to stop a few times.   i got nervous when people got behind me. 

Kids kept making loud noises.  I think one of them said come on just walk once.   Maybe sometime they will understand :)

We finally made it back to the car.   We drove to chick fil a for some dinner and headed out of town.  Kids ate and pretty much fell asleep pretty fast.

9/13 - Landon got Knight of the week 2nd week of school.  We are so proud of him.

In morning went to Dr.  He said things looked good.  I have to stay off it for 2 weeks and then come back.  If I don't will likely have to have surgery again.  Don't want that.   I have boot, crutches and bandage on foot.    They had to cut up my toe a lot to get the really small pins in. He said the screws are that small but the tools aren't that small.  hopefully it will heal ok over time.  Toe looks good.

We basically picked Landon up from school and drove to College Station.  I sat in the back seat with my foot up, kids in very back watching movies and playing games and Greg driving :)

We got to College Station, had quick dinner at Taco Cabana.  We had issue getting into house we were staying in but ended up ok.  We called my aunt in Conroe to see if we could come stay there if we couldn't get in.  We finally got in.  Got the kids to bed.  The boys went out for a drink.

Kasey started crying upstairs.  i was downstairs staying off my foot trying to get her to come out and talk to me.  She kept crying.  So I crawled up stairs to see what was going on.  She had gotten sick all over.   So I'm hopping upstairs trying to get her in shower.  Tried waking Landon up, took an act of congress to get him to go get my phone downstairs to tell Greg to come home.  They had not even finished a beer.    I got her a shower, cleaned up a little bit hopping and crawling.  Got her some clothes she would wear and back down on the other end of blow up mattress.

Then I scooted back downstairs.  Guys got home, Greg cleaned up everything, did wash.  Good times.  Kasey was fine.

9/10 - It was surgery day for my toe.  I took Landon to school.  Gave him a heads up that I might be a little loopy in the afternoon because they were putting me to sleep during surgery.   He asked if it was the same as when he had surgery which it was.  I guess he remembers that.

Kasey's friend Joseph came to pick her up to take her to school so we could get to the hospital.   We met Grammy and Gramps there.  I got checked in and they took me back.   The nurse met us and she laughed at the description they had.  Something like fracture of left pinkie toe.   apparently it's pretty rare.

Everything got set up, all the nurses were great,  They did crutches (or crunches as Kasey calls them) training before surgery which I think was a good thing.   They did general anesthesia on me.  They started it and wheeled me back to the operating room.  I moved tables and was still awake for a little while looking around at lights and as they prepped for everything.  Next thing I remember is waking up in recovery.  I think it was about quarter til 1 when I woke up.  I got some ice and water and felt good.  No pain or sore throat.  I started feeling my foot a little bit so she recommended I get some pain medication.  I agreed.  Not to much longer they got me back to room I started in.  Dr had talked to Greg and my parents.  He said it was unique break.  He ended up putting in 2 tiny screws - 1 1/4 mm.  

I had to go pee, take first done of pain meds and wait 30 minutes.   After that we were free to go.   Greg went to get car and Mom and dad went with me to get to the car.

We headed home then.  Greg took Kasey to tball/softball practice and Janice stayed with Landon and I.   I was still doing pretty well.  I typically don't like taking any kind of drugs even Tylenol unless I really have to so taking Hydrocodone was not top of my list.  After several people on facebook saying that it's best to keep taking pain meds and stay on top of the pain because if it starts hurting its much harder to control.  Ok, I wasn't seeing crazy effects from medicine so I kept taking it like I should :)

The 4 of us had dinner at table together.   Kids got baths, we read a book, and then Greg got them to bed.

Greg and I watched US soccer team game against Mexico.  US won 2 to 0.  and then Honduras won as well so the US qualified for World Cup!  YEA 

9/8 - After another great night on air mattress, we got up, headed to Cracker barrell for a good breakfast before heading home. Kasey was pretty whiny so the waiter brought her a biscuit with apple butter.  I remember eating and loving apple butter as a little girl.  Yum! I was supposed to leave for Brazil, but didn't because of my foot.

on the way home, Greg drove, I napped, and kids watched movies, read and played games.  We were all pretty tired when we got home so we didn't do to much!

9/7 - of course after going to bed late, Kasey woke up about 6:20am in the morning.    We slowly got up, all of us got showers, had small breakfast then we headed out to the Chicken.   Kids played (without money) a shooting arcade game, Landon built things with dominoes, and then we played dominoes.   Good times.

After that we headed to do a little shopping off campus then headed to campus.  Greg dropped kids and I off near stadium and went to park because of my foot.  Kids and I went into bookstore.  We found inexpensive football helmet for Landon to wear for halloween.  He's going to be Johnny Football.  Kasey also got  a dress.

then we headed to the stadium.  We were pretty early and decided to go near the field to watch team going on field.  Landon was playing football in the grass with some older boys and Kasey was just playing around.  We got to see the team including Johnny Football.   Then we walked up to our seats for the game.

We also forgot all the rain gear we have and of course it rained almost first half of the game.   Of course that means the temp dropped about 20 degrees to like 82.  I will take light rain and 82 over 102 any day.  

kids did pretty good, but got a little restless wanting treats.   Aggies won and it was overall good game.  Both kids fell alseep in the car before we even left campus.  It was a night game so it was pretty late.

Doug was getting up early to head back for soccer game and Greg and I were tired so we just hung out at the house and had a few beers.

9/6 - No baseball or softball so we are heading to College Station for the weekend.  I worked from home Friday, we picked Landon up from school and left pretty quick from there.  We got into town, dropped our stuff where we are staying, and then headed to Wings N more for dinner.  One of our favorites, and it wasn't to long of a wait.   Afterwards, I took the kids back to get in bed, and Greg and Doug went to watch US soccer qualifier.

Kids were on air mattress together -  unfortunately we forgot several things on this trip like extra mattress, sleeping bags, contact solution etc.  At first they were ok, but after a few hours they started bugging each other and didn't want to sleep together.  What does this mean, Landon slept in the bed with Greg and I got to sleep on the air mattress with Kasey.  YEA

After I went to bed, Kasey curled up next to me which I thought was sweet.  At one point, she says "its to loud" referring to Greg's snoring :)  Made me laugh

9/3 - Greg and Landon rode bikes to school.  Greg let Landon ride home by himself as Greg drove in car.  

Today was Kasey's first day of PreK.  It's her last year of preschool.  Some of the other moms were crying.  We were excited for her and glad that she was comfortable to just go into class.  She has a few friends in her class and even more friends in stay and play.  She does Stay and Play until 2pm on T/Th so Greg can work those days and she will be able to take phonics.  We have told her about it and her summary is that they will teach her to read.  Will be interesting how quickly she picks up sounds and words.

She said she had a great day and liked her teacher.  She was very excited that she ate her whole lunch -she gets to have lunch when she goes to stay and play.

9/2 - We let Landon ride his bike around the block by himself.  Was a little nervous but he did great.  After that, we went over to Juan's and Marisa's for some Labor day swimming.  Kids had fun playing in their new pool with Doug.  We cooked out some burgers, brats and hot dogs

9/1 - Landon had morning baseball tournament game.  Team didn't do to well for some reason.  Landon wasn't hitting very well.  hopefully we can get the boys motivated to work together.

After tournament we came home for boys to shower and headed to lunch.

That afternoon Greg and I took kids to Grammy and Gramps to play and have dinner while Greg and I went to see End of the World.  We both thought it was really funny.
