Halloween

Landon had 3 costumes for Halloween. He wore his doggy outfit for the TI Halloween playdate. On Thursday Oct 30th we went to our gym for a fun Halloween event. Landon got to dress up in his pirate costume. He had fun playing games, making a cookie, running around, bouncing on a bounce ball, and seeing some of his friends.

Landon had a few friends there. Michael and Julia from the gym were there. Also Ian (who Landon is trying to share his popcorn with), Lauren and Sarah were there from the TI moms playgroup.










On Halloween Landon got to wear his Elmo costume. Of course it was warm that night so he actually got hot, but he had fun trick or treating on our block. He would say lets go to next house and next house and next house. When he started getting tired he would say ok one more house. Landon got to go to a friend's mom's house to see some older kids before trick or treating.

Kasey's Baby Shower

My good friend Beth was sweet enough to host a baby shower for Kasey on October 26th. We met at Blue Mesa and did shower stuff (opened gifts, played cute games (baby crossword and match the celebrity baby names), and then we ordered some dinner and had a good time talking with each other.

Beth made a wonderful cake that we all enjoyed for dessert. Greg and Landon made a token appearance to drop off keys to the 4Runner so we could put everything in there.

I had not registered, but everyone picked out wonderful and generous gifts for Kasey. It was fun to see different tastes and ideas. I'm not to big on pink, but I actually liked everything that we got. It's exciting seeing all of the cute girl clothes, and Kasey is set for a while :)

I really appreciate Beth hosting the shower for us, it turned out great.

TI moms Halloween Playdate

On Saturday we went to the Dallas Arboretum for a playdate with the TI moms group. We all brought our lunch and the kids dressed up and got to run around. It was beautiful out there both weather wise and all of the flowers and all of the pumpkins. TI was sponsoring the events at the arboretum so we were able to get in for free.

We had a good time hanging out with the families and seeing the kids all dressed up. Landon ate a good lunch, but of course wanted to all of the desserts that everyone brought.

There was a maze made of hay that Landon liked running through. There was a pumpkin house and a pumpkin patch that you could run through. Landon liked the pumpkins as usual. There was also a little petting zoo with some goats, a rabbit, donkey, some chickens and a sheep. I don't think I've ever pet a sheep before so that was pretty cool.

Poo Poo in potty

Landon went poo poo in the potty for the first time tonight (10/22). He was in the bath and said he wanted to go poo poo in the potty. He went pee pee first, and then wasn't sure what to do. After sitting there for a little while he actually went poo poo. We were very proud of him.

On Oct 27 Landon went poo poo in the potty at Grandma's house.

Conroe Visit

Grammy, Greg, Landon and I went to visit relatives in the Conroe area the weekend of Oct 17th. Landon enjoyed hanging out with his cousins and playing with everyone (including the dogs). He really liked playing with the badminton set. At least he liked hitting the shuttlecock with the racquet. Grammy, Aunt Mary, Cheri got to see and feel Kasey moving around.

Landon helped us make Hershey bar pie

He got some new fun puzzles and Mr Potato head that he has enjoyed. He also got to do flash cards with "Uncle David"

On the way out of town we stopped at the Marina and David took us for a boat ride. Landon enjoyed it. Both Landon and Greg got to drive the boat. We lost Landon's hat in the water, but Greg was able to get it back.

First School Social

As room parents we helped organize Landon's first school social. This allows the parents and kids to meet up outside of school. We met at a park near the school and had lunch with some of his class mates. The kids got to play at the park, play some football, and we eat some lunch before school. Here are a couple pictures.

Landon is a big help when cooking. We made some cookies and Landon was a great help. He helped pooring ingredients, and he also likes licking the mixer.



















Landon wore some jeans on 10/16 because it was cooler outside. He looked like such a big boy. He also was wearing a jacket that made him look older, but he wouldn't keep it on for a picture.



















New sizes for Landon: We bought him 8 1/2 shoes, he's moved to size 6 diapers, wearing 4T sleepers, 3T pants, and 4T shirts.

The last picture is Landon in our new Halloween decoration box eating a cookie trying to keep it from Lady. We had to get a maroon box for Halloween decorations to counteract the orange.

Zoo

We went to the Dallas Zoo with Beth and Cade. Here are some pictures from our fun visit. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals, and it wasn't to hot so we enjoyed it as well. We didn't take a picture of it, but we saw them feed a python. They put 2 rabbits in there, and we saw the huge snake wrap around one of them and start eating it. It took a long time, but was interesting to watch. This was the first time we used the double stroller that Janice bought in preparation for Kasey.

new updates

Landon sings his school songs all the time. The song they sing before leaving goes Landon, Landon Jump up and down, Jump up and down now go and get your backpack. They do this for each of the kids, and so Landon sings it with different names. Another one is open shut them, open shut them now it's time for snack. Landon will sing this with different things that its time for. There is also a handwashing song that he sings sometimes when we wash his hands.

He seems to know names of many of his school mates - can tell their names at pick up

Open shut them open shut them now it's time for snack - we started singing that for bath time. We'll see if that helps him want to take a bath more. often he wants to play and not take a bath

Landon is not going pee pee in the potty much, but I don't really want to push it. There is a lot changing for him with school starting, changing rooms, new furniture and a baby on the way He seems to be sleeping better in bigger bed. when he was in toddler bed he's get up fairly early and when he moved around would sometimes drop his feet out of the bed. Now in a bigger bed he'll sometimes sleep until almost 9am, and he has lots of room to move around. With his new furniture he'll have a full bed to sleep in so that should be good.

We had the Stars hockey game on the other night and Landon was humming the National Anthem. He seems to really like that song.

He Loves the Aggie Band music and asks for it in the car all the time. The CD we have has several songs including the National Anthem and Aggie War Hymn. It also has the Spirit of Aggieland which has some yells at the end. Landon will all of the sudden go Fight, fight, fight, fight fight (which is part of the yell). It's cute.

Landon has also started saying ok a lot. I think he gets it from me, but he'll tell us something and then ok after his sentence. It's really cute.

We're making good progress, Landon got to see Kasey move

Yesterday (10/7) We had the carpet replaced in the 3 bedrooms upstairs. This was the only carpet left to replace from when we moved in. We went with a darker color than the rest of the house, and we really like it. It does show a difference because the at the doors it meets up with the other carpet, but it still looks ok. The kids will have new carpet in their rooms which will hopefully last for a while. Now we just have to get stuff organized upstairs.

Landon is now in his new room and bathroom. He's in the largest room upstairs. It's painted blue, and the theme of the room will be sports. We still have to get his furniture in and finish decorating, but he seems to like his new room. With the work yesterday the fan was on high, and so Landon woke up at 5:30 this morning thinking it was light (bright night light) and he was cold. I turned his fan down, covered up the night light some (I actually covered up the camera as well, oops), and covered him up. He went back to sleep until 8:30ish when Greg needed to wake him up to go.

Kasey's room is painted green. It's actually a pretty bright green, but the new darker carpet actually tones it down some. I really like it. We'll put some of the furniture in Kasey's room, and some of it will come downstairs where she'll sleep for a while. We'll decorate her room with the Maroon Winnie the Poor set that Landon used. I figured since we'll replace it in a couple years anyway it wasn't worth spending another couple hundred on new stuff.

Landon's old room will become a playroom upstairs. It will have the bookshelf, toychest, and we'll figure out what else will go in there.

The kids will have their own bathrooms. Kasey's is bigger which probably makes sense because girls have more stuff for the bathroom.

Greg did a great job painting the rooms and moving all of the stuff out to get ready for the carpet install. Hopefully we can start getting stuff back in order before to long. Although with our crazy Oct schedule it will be tough.

After Landon waking up this morning I went to work out, and then had a conference call at 7:30am. luckily my next call was cancelled so I got to come downstairs and sit with Landon while he ate breakfast. He was able to see Kasey move this morning for the first time. Usually he's to busy to be patient and watch, but this morning he did. I said look at my tummy. He said, it's Kasey. Then he said that Kasey was going to come out of Mommy's tummy. I told him we had a couple months.

Kasey update

I had an appointment with Jeanean today. All is well Kasey's heartbeat was in the 150s, and it looks like she's getting into position (head down). Previously she has been sideways quite a bit. This usually happens around 32 weeks. It doesn't mean labor is near.

With her head down her back is along my left hand side and her feet are on my right side. It's kind of neat to know now if it's an elbow, bottom or foot moving. She can still switch sides (back being along right side), but she'll likely stay head down.

Jeanean asked about getting records for our vacation so I told her we weren't able to go. I keep being reminded of our vacation that didn't happen. It's in big red marker on my calendar at work, and people keep asking me if I'm supposed to be on vacation. Oh well we'll get through.

Landon's new room

We're doing lots of new things upstairs in the Myers household. Greg has painted Landon's new room blue, he's currently painting Kasey's room Green. Next Tuesday we're getting new carpet in the 3 bedrooms upstairs (so Greg is also working to clear the rooms out). Then Oct 23rd we'll get Landon's new furniture and hopefully in Oct we can get decorating done or at least a good part started.

With all of this, we decided to go ahead and put a Queen mattress in Landon's new room to start getting him used to that room. Friday Oct 3rd is his first night to sleep in there. He seems excited about the new room. Now I get to lay down with him to read books. I also moved his toothbrush and hair brush into his new bathroom (he's been taking baths in there for a little while now).

Landon is able to use his fingers a little better. He can definitely hold up 2 fingers and say 2. He can also hold up 3 fingers. We're still working on 4, but he's doing very well.

Landon seems to be getting more particular about things. He wants things prepared like he wants them or he gets upset. Or he wants us to do things in a certain way or he gets upset. For example we used to be able to suggest what he was going to have for breakfast and he usually went along. Now he really has an opinion that if he doesn't want egg, he doesn't want egg. Some foods he wants us to cut up, and some he wants to eat whole like we do (apples, muffins, etc). If we do it the wrong way he is not happy.

Not sure if I've said this before. Landon loves the song Old McDonald. He sings it all the time. Sometimes I think it's a way he uses to deal with anxiety (singing).

I'm doing ok. Getting bigger and slower, but feeling ok. We still have so much to do, and work is crazy. Hopefully we'll get most things done in October, and I can rest more in November. I think that a lot of things are going to change at work soon, which isn't great timing since I'll be on maternity leave before to long.
