Kasey rolled over once

I'm prettybehind on the blog,  I have lots of updates from my birthday celebrations and pictures.  I'll get them up soon :)

Kasey rolled over from her stomach to back for the first time today (in a long time).  She only did it once though.   She's not really sitting up yet, but she's getting really close.  She will put her hands down some, but then she'll end up leaning over quite a bit.    She's doing better eating.  Monday she ate 10 oz while I was at work and today she ate 6oz.    She's started going to bed fairly well.   I'll try to feed her in the bedroom where it's darker and then put her to bed awake.  She'll fuss some, but go to sleep.  Last few nights she's gone to bed about 9:30-9:45.    Over the weekend she got up 2 and 3 times a night, but the last 2-3 nights she's just gotten up once and slept about 7 or 8 hours.  

I don't remember if I've put this in the blog so I will here.  Kasey is now in 6/9 month clothes.  This is great when it's warm because I have lots of cute spring and summer clothes.   Unfortunately it's been cooler in Dallas and she has very few long pant outfits that fit.  No worries, I'm sure it will be warm soon.   She's in 2/3 diapers and has been for a little while.

Landon is enjoying going outside to play.  The Easter Bunny brought him a Thomas the Train ball that he's having lots of fun playing with.    We've gone in the back yard the last few nights and he's enjoyed that.   He's also still playing with his various baskets and eggs from Easter.  Luckily he usually cleans up the mess he makes with them.

Kasey seems to be eating more while I'm at work. Yesterday she ate about 10oz, and today she ate a little over 7. That's pretty good.

Landon is doing well. We think he sprained his ankle yesterday. He's limping, but still wanting to run around and be a crazy 2 year old.

When I'm pumping at work I sometimes call home. In the last week or so Landon has really started to talk to me on the phone. He takes the phone from Greg and goes somewhere else in the house. He asks me how I'm doing and will tell me what's going on. It's kind of fun to get to talk to him on the phone.

Kasey 4 months

I can't believe Kasey is 4 months old.

She had her 4 month checkup.  Everything looked great.  She now weighs 16lb .5oz (91%), she's 25.25 in long (83%), and her head cir is 16.4 in (69%).  Needless to say she's growing very well.  She's a sweet chubby little baby girl.

She's started eating some during the day while I'm at work.  She'll eat between 3-6 oz breastmilk total without to much fuss.  She seems to do better not being held and being able to move around as she pleases.  We'll see how it goes.  Obviously from her weight gain she's getting what she needs.

She's cooing and making sounds more.  She had this little sound that she makes quite often almost like she's just talking and talking to us.

Last weekend we went to brunch with some friends which was a lot of fun.    I think I had a couple things that had some milk in them.  Then we went to lunch and had burgers.  I asked for no cheese, but they put it on there anyway.   We decided to give it a try and see what happened.  Not the best idea.  Kasey was fairly fussy, and then that night she spit up pretty big.  She doesn't really do that anymore so I knew it was the dairy.  Back to no dairy for me.

Kasey is still sleeping about the same.  She usually goes to bed sometime after 10pm and she'll sleep about 5-6 hours. Every once in a while she'll sleep for 7 or 8 hours, but I don't count on it.

She is doing very well grabbing toys.  She likes playing with them.  She has a little lovie blanket, baby doll, toys on her floor gym, and several others that Landon likes to get out and give her.

Grammy said that Landon sang the whole song of patty cake to Kasey today.   That usually makes her laugh.  I can imagine it's really cute.

Landon is still talking about the soccer game we went to last Saturday.  Greg said that this morning Landon told him that he saw fireworks, soccer game, airplanes (there was a flyover), Hooper (the FC Dallas mascot).

Landon thinks that he doesn't need a nap so he stays up during the day, and then 4:30/5pm he's exhausted and takes a little nap.

Kasey has tried some to hold her bottle and is really doing pretty good holding toys and playing with them.

Kasey seems to be doing a little better eating during the day.   She's had at least 5 oz while I was gone since Friday which I think it pretty good.  Definitely better than zero.   She only had 3 from the bottle today, but she had two feedings from me this morning because I was at home.

March Parties Galore

We had some new neighbors move in down the street. They have a little boy that's about 2 months older than Landon and they are expecting a little girl in July. We've enjoyed starting to hang out. March 7th we celebrated Landon's new friend Liam's 3rd Birthday. We went to Planet Pizza in Plano and then went back to their house for cake. Everyone had lots of fun. March 8th we celebrated Pops (Greg's Dad) birthday at Grandma and Pops house. Landon of course is a great help with opening presents and cards. Here are a few pictures from the celebration: click here


March 14th we had one of the TI socials at our house. I had started a trend having a second baby, and then several of the other regulars in the group got pregnant as well. I had Kasey in November, another mom had her little boy in January, and now several moms will have their babies in March/April. Here are some pictures from the social. Also March 14th we celebrated Nanny (kids great grandmother) and uncle John's Birthday. An Aunt and uncle and newly married cousins came up from Austin to celebrate. Here are some pictures from this celebration.  Click here 

Some update, Spring Break, Kasey's first soccer game

Here are a couple pictures from Nanny and uncle John's Birthday celebration on March 14th.   This is Landon eyeing the food.  We brought in Pappasitos which is always good.

Fun things with Kasey - she's now found her feet so she likes playing with them.  She likes playing with her dolls and some of her toys.  She'll reach for them and try to chew on them.  She's very smiley when people talk to her, and she likes to laugh when you do silly things or sing silly songs to her.  

Landon had his first spring break.  On Tuesday Greg took Landon to the Fort Worth Zoo.  They 

had a good time. Landon walked the zoo instead of riding in the stroller for the first 

time. Thursday we had school playdate. Only 2 of us came. But I think the boys had fun running 

around the park and playing with balls.  Kasey got to go as well and be outside some.

Kasey hasn't ever been real fond of the bottle (still getting only breastmilk), but this last week it got worse.  For about a week starting March 12th she decided to stop drinking from the bottle completely while I was at work.  With an early morning feeding this could be about 12 hours.  We decided Thursday the 19th to take her to the doctor.  She was fine, weighed 15lb 3 oz (this is what Landon weighed at his 4 month visit).  They felt she was getting what she needed which meant she had about 4-5 feedings with me in the evening and then an early morning one as well.  This is fine except that I wasn't able to do much else other than feed Kasey in the evening.  They had a lactation consultant call me to make some recommendations of things that have worked for other people.  Basically she said to  change things up and be very low key about it.  So Friday Landon went to hang out with Grandma and Daddy and Kasey tried some new things.  Greg tried using very fresh milk, different bottles that we normally used, and tried feeding her laying on the couch or on the changing table.  She took 5 oz total during the day which is great compared to none.  That night we went out to dinner with some friends (for our Christmas dinner, we're just a couple months late).  Kasey and Landon stayed with Grammy and Gramps.  Using some of the same ideas Kasey ate another 6oz while we were at dinner.  We'll see how Monday goes, but hopefully she'll start eating some while I'm at work.

March 21st (Saturday) we went to FC Dallas season opening game.  This was Kasey's first soccer game.   I spent most of the game walking both kids around so I was pretty tired afterwards, but we had fun and it was something different to do.

This is a picture of Landon's party that I talked about in another post.  He had pizza, cookies, drinks, chairs for Greg Landon and I and a couch for Kasey to lay on.  To cute.  Landon seems to like lining things up whether it's trains, a party paint, whatever.

Greg and Doug went to Houston for a long weekend to see A&M in a baseball tournament.  That meant it was just me and the kids for the weekend.  Here is what we did....

Friday we went to Grammy and Gramps house.  Landon got up pretty early so we ate breakfast before 7:30am.  We got to Grammy and Gramps before 11am, and Landon was starving to we had an early lunch.  This was Landon sharing his cookie with Gramps after lunch.

After lunch Grammy, Landon, Kasey and I went to Valley View mall.  Landon went to play at the little play area and stayed in there what seemed like less than 5 minutes.  So we started walking.  We rode the Carousel.  Landon wanted to ride the rabbit.

Then we got to ride the train.   We had a lot of fun.   Unfortunately with the baby and work I haven't been able to enjoy these kind of things much with Landon.

Kasey was really good and stayed in the stoller/car seat the whole time we were at the mall.

Landon took at nap in our room, and Lady decided she would join him.  After nap Landon's new friend from down the street came down the play, and we brought Macaroni Grill in to eat.  The kids made a complete mess, but we all had fun and got some good food.

Saturday Landon had a birthday party for one of the TI mom's kids Ian at Gymboree.  It was fun to see everyone at Gymboree again.  Kasey stayed at the house with Grandma while Landon and I went to the party.  Here are a few pictures.

Here we are actually under the parachute singing songs that they sing with every Gymboree class.  I think it brought back more memories for me than Landon, but he said he remembered it.

Sunday Grammy came over so I could get the house cleaned for the housekeeper coming on Monday morning.     That afternoon Landon went to Grandma and Pops house.  Pops had been promising Landon a hamburger, ice cream and a movie.  Landon doesn't forget these kind of things.  They went to a short Imax show, which Landon was good but not to impressed.  Then they got hamburgers and ice cream.  He got to spend the night over there.
