Getting Landon to bed seems to be getting harder. It's taking about an hour to get him to stay in his bed and go to sleep. We got a new camera so we can see him in the dark, but he seems to keep getting up before we can look at the camera.
Last night he went to bed late, woke up twice between 2:40 and 4am, and then was up around 7am. Needless to say we're all a little tired.
Last Sunday (Aug 24th) Landon went pee pee in the potty 4 times. He even went pee pee at lunch at a restaurant. He first said that Mommy had to go potty, but then just started walking back to the bathroom (he knew where it was). This was the first time for him to go outside of our house and the grandparents' houses.
He also seems to want to try going potty standing up (vs sitting), but when he gets there he's not to sure about it.

Landon seems to still be getting used to his new bed. He seems to get up earlier, but he's going to bed a little better at night. It gives me a chance to sit upstairs and work on the blog and pictures. The last night he only tried to come out of his room once. Tonight he's staying in his room, but has opened and closed the door a couple times.
Landon is singing more and more. I got on video the other day of him singing Old McDonald. He's actually pretty good at getting most of the words. It's very cute.
Kasey seems to be moving more and more. Sometimes it's weird at work to be in a meeting talking or presenting with a living being kicking you. It's fun though. I have a cough and am still a little sick, but I'm sure it will get better.
Football season and Landon's school start in a couple weeks. We're excited, but know that we'll be busy.

tickling, Landon's new schedule, dr appointment
Landon has started playing a game where he closes his eyes and says Mommy or Daddy in a sad voice. We usually tickle him when he does it so he keeps doing it.
Landon has started sleeping less since he's been in his big boy bed. He doesn't want to go to bed at night because he can get up. He gets up early because he can. This morning I heard something while making breakfast when I got back from the gym. I went to look to make sure, and Landon was standing at the top of the stairs with his blanket. It was about 7:15am. He used to not make much noise before 7:45 or 8. With this he's a bit wilder than normal and gets upset more easily. Hopefully he'll adjust and get back to a routine that works. He starts school on Sept 2nd so hopefully he'll be adjusted by then. He must just have hit the terrible 2s....
Landon has decided he likes doing somersaults. He's not to skilled yet and making sure objects, people etc are out of his way first, but I think he's learning.
It's sometimes a struggle to get Landon to clean up his toys before bed time. Tonight he wanted to take a shower instead of a bath, but we told him because he didn't listen to up when cleaning up toys he had to take a bath. We told him when he doesn't listen he has to follow our rules. He responded that we should follow his rules. We had to laugh.
Had appointment with Jeanean today. Baby is doing well. I measured 24 inches which is pretty good since I'm 25 weeks. Kasey's heartbeat was in the 150s which is good. She thinks she's breech or sideways. Jeanean said we don't need to worry about that until 36 weeks. She said since Landon figured it out to go head down so we know my body will allow this. I had Glucose test today so we'll see how that goes (tests for Gestational Diabetes). I've had "cold" since I got back from Japan Aug 1. Jeanean said basically that when you're pregnant you get things easier, and they last long. Yea! I've been pretty irritable lately as well, and she said that's normal. I guess it's good I'm normal!

Name for Baby Girl Myers
We've decided on a name. We've tried several theories to find a name for our little girl, but we have had a hard time agreeing on anything or finding anything we really liked.
Wednesday evening August 13th Greg was reading an article on Kasey Keller (US soccer team player), and so he asked if I liked the name Kasey. I did!
Later that night I said what about Kasey Lynn (my middle name), and Greg mentioned Kasey Leigh. Leigh has been a name that I've really liked so it worked for me.
Couple fun facts. Leigh is Jaime Folkert's middle name (Greg didn't know that when he mentioned it). Landon's initials are LKM and Kasey's will be KLM.

Big Boy Bed
Since on our vacation Landon had been sleeping in big boy beds, we thought we should try to transition him to a big boy bed at home.While Landon was in the bath on Wednesday August 13th, Greg transitioned his bed from a crib to a toddler bed. We told him we had a surprise and tried to make a big deal about the big boy bed. He was pretty excited to be able to climb in himself.
The first night he did pretty well. I had to sit with him for a little bit for him to settle down. He slept until about 7:40am and got up and came to the stair top to tell us to come up. He was pretty excited about his big boy bed.
Thursday night he didn't want to stay in bed as much so we'll have to work on that. I watched him for a few minutes during this afternoon nap. He was sitting up in his bed with his blanket sucking his thumb then he just decided to get up. It was cute.
Texas Vacation
We decided to take a short vacation in Texas. Landon, Greg, Grandma and Nanny left on Thursday morning Aug 7th to head to Yorktown, TX. They got to visit with one of Greg's Great Aunt's, and uncle and play and visit with several cousins. Landon had a good time with the cats and playing with his cousins Sean and Sheldon. Landon calls them the boys.
Friday after work I drove down to Austin to stay with my long time friend Jaime and her husband Tony. They just moved back to Texas from Georgia so it was great to see them. They are currently in an apartment, but looking for a house in Austin. Greg and crew drove up to Austin on Saturday morning. Greg, Landon and I went to lunch with a friend that Greg has known since co-oping during college. We had a good time visiting and eating with Debbie and her family. They were heading to the airport after lunch for their vacation in Colorado. On the way back to Jaime's after lunch Landon fell asleep. He actually slept for a couple hours on a sleeping bag in the back bedroom. I'm sure he was sleep deprived and very tired.
That night we went to a good Italian place near Jaime and Tony, and then we went downtown to Paciugo for a little dessert. Landon liked seeing the horse carriages, and he always likes going to Paciugo.
We had a good time hanging out with Jaime and Tony. Landon enjoyed getting to know them and loved playing with their cat Ringo. Jaime said that she wasn't surprised when I told her that our first little one was going to be named Landon. When we were younger we did several games where we wrote down favorite colors, how many children we wanted names, etc. Jaime said that one of my names was Landon. I didn't remember that, but we knew a Landon in high school so that makes sense. Anyway, I thought that was funny.
Sunday we had a great breakfast with Jaime and Tony, and a little later we had lunch with Greg's Aunt Jody and Uncle Buddy who live in Austin. We enjoyed talking with them. One of their daughters is engaged and getting married next year so it was fun to talk about wedding stuff again. After that Greg drove us to San Antonio (Landon and I pretty much slept the whole way).
That night we decided to get some food from Whole Foods
and just eat in the room. We also went swimming in the pool at the hotel. We stayed at Staybridge Suites on 410 which happens to be the first place that Landon ever got into a pool.Monday we went to Sea World. We of course got to see the Shamu show called Believe which was really good. There are also several places that you can feed the animals. We fed dolphins and got to touch them (Landon just wanted to watch), alligators, and sea lions. Landon liked feeding the Sea Lions because you basically just dropped the fish a ways down to them. We also went into a bird area where you fed them out of a little cup. One of the birds bit Landon so he wasn't to thrilled about doing that after that. We got to see the silly sea lion show, and then we went through the Shark tanks. Landon basically fell asleep in the stroller before we left the park. He was pretty tired, but excited that we bought him a Shamu while he slept.
Tuesday it rained quite a bit but we went to the Zoo anyway. It was at least cooler even though we were all wet. Several of the animals went inside because of the rain, but we still had fun seeing the monkeys, snow leopard, hippos, rhinos, alligators, many birds and snakes. We also got to see a Turantula up close. Greg and Landon enjoyed feeding ducks and fish. We also tried feeding goats, but Landon wasn't to sure about getting to close to them. He did get to hear them say Maa Maa which you don't hear as often as other animals.
A little after mid day we were soaked, and about ready to go. We went back to the room the change and have lunch. We tried taking a nap, but Landon had a quick one on the way back to hotel and didn't want to sleep. That afternoon we went to the river walk and took the boat ride tour. Landon of course fell asleep on the way to downtown. Once he woke up he kept saying where's our boat. Waiting in line is fun to explain to a 2 year old.
After the tour we took a Trolley down to one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants, La Margarita. I think Landon liked the Trolley ride as much if not more than the other events.
Landon got to press bottons in the elevator, go swimming every night, and eat waffles for breakfast. You can't ask for much more than that.
Anyway, we had a good time and got to get away from the norm for a little bit.

Updates
I went to Japan this last week for business. It was fun to talk to him on the phone as it's getting easier to understand what he's saying. Japan was harder than I thought. You have to walk a lot in Japan which wasn't an issue, but it was also hot and humid which made it more difficult. I got pretty tired, and then because of jet lag would wake up multiple times a night. By the time I got back home I had gotten sick (cold stuff), and then Friday and Sunday nights I woke up around 3/3:30am and couldn't go back to sleep. Other than that things are going well. The baby is moving a lot more which is fun, but we are still struggling with finding a name.
We had a busy weekend this past weekend. Friday we went to Coaches night to hear coach Sherman speak. It will be interesting to see how the season goes.
Saturday we got to eat dinner at De Tapas with Doug on his 1 day in Dallas. He's been in Hawaii for several weeks, and is now going to Arizona until end of August. I'm sure he's in shock with the weather change from paradise to the frying pan.
Sunday we took Landon to the Circus for the first time. He had a good time. We went to breakfast at Kathleen's and then headed down to American Airlines center. Before the show they let you go down on the floor and be close to the clowns, some of the aerobatics, and an elephant. Landon really liked seeing the elephants and the show kept his interest for almost the entire time. Afterwards he said it was fun.
Greg and I got to go see Beth in Will Roger Follies that afternoon. It's always fun to see Beth perform.
Landon has been going pee pee more in the potty. Sunday he went twice. We're still just letting him tell us when he wants to go. Tonight he actually went poo poo in the potty. It was diarrhea so hopefully there isn't anything wrong. I'm very thankful it was in the potty and not a diaper. What a mess that would have been.
Landon basically fell out of his crib last week. Greg caught him luckily. We moved his bed around so that the lower side was by the wall. We'll have to get him a big boy bed before to long.
