August Updates

8/30 - Kasey had her first day of PreSchool at AppleCreek today. She was very excited. I had to be on calls so Greg took her in. They found her cubby, her name to put on the door and went in to draw. No tears. Greg said, are you ok, can I go now. Kasey said, I'm ok daddy you can go now. My baby girl is growing up to fast.

8/26 - Landon had his first flag football practice. Just Greg and Landon went, but he had a good time even though he was tired from school all week. He's on Titans flag football team. Greg will likely end up helping to coach.

8/25 - Tonight the kids picked out the first nursery rhyme book that you gave Landon when he was born. they loved dancing and singing to the nursery rhymes. that's always been one of Landon's favorites, and he picked it to be something fun for Kasey, but he had just as much fun.

After such fun, I was getting Landon to bed, we said prayers and I sang the normal Hush little baby song. Then Landon said I didn't sing the song. He was already super tired so I wasn't going to sing it again. that led to lots of tears and really wanting me to sing it again. Poor guy. Really tired from full week of kindergarten.

8/22 - First Day of Kindergarten

Landon was supposed to wake up about 7am, he came down about 6:50am saying he came down a little early to make sure we weren't running late. He was very excited and wanted to get dressed right away.

We had to wake Kasey up a little early to get to school. All of us drove to the school and walked Landon in. We showed him the cafeteria and then went straight to the classroom. He had to put up his folder, put his lunch and snack into buckets. He had to hang his backpack up and get a book to hang out with kids. Landon wasn't to sure, but we knew he would be ok.

Landon really liked kindergarten today. He met a friend named Patrick - At meet the castle night they both had on Cars 2 shirts, and Patrick had his on today as well. They got to go to the gym - not going outside in this weather. He said they did a lot of writing and did some art. He liked his teacher.

He told me that Norton has 6 grades, and that they will probably go to the computer lab tomorrow.

I did not cry, but I was nervous all day hoping and praying he was having fun and meeting new people. Luckily it worked out.

8/19 - Landon tied his shoes on his own well for the first time. Just in time for kindergarten!

8/18 - We had back to the castle night at Norton Elementary. Landon was very excited about his new school. His teacher is Ms Savitch. He liked the classroom - they had legos, and colors and lots of letter activities. He found his cubby. There are 3 computers in the classroom

We walked around with scavenger hunt to find everything in the school. We got to see the gym (go twice a week), library, cafeteria, computer room (go once a week to learn computers in fun way), music room, art room. School is much bigger than Applecreek, but nice. He's excited.

21 kids in his class. His teacher seems nice, but we didn't get to interact to much.

8/6 - Took Lady to see Pops (her Vet) this morning. She hasn't been doing very well. She's lost a lot of weight, acts like she doesn't feel well, doesn't eat to much, and now her skin is breaking out a lot. Anyway, pops says she has an auto immune disease similar to lupus that is attacking her skin all over. She also has a secondary infection on her face. We'll get the secondary infection cleaned up and she'll be on corizone for the long term to get the auto immune disease under control. Later in the day I could already tell she was feeling better, and she wanted to eat a lot more. Might have been the new canned food that Pops gave her to try. She also started to limp some after jumping out of the car. Poor Lady - it's tough getting old.
