2/26 - 2/28 - Poor Kasey woke up a couple hours after going to sleep
and got sick all over her bed. We showered her, changed sheets and got
her back to bed. Then she got sick again. It ended up that only clean
sheets we had for her bed were Greg's Star Wars sheets he had when he
was growing up.
Tuesday she was perfectly fine she went to school and gymnastics.
Wednesday she got sick a couple times again with Grandma, but then
Wednesday night at home she was outside running after baseballs and
playing basketball in the backyard.
2/24 - After work, Greg was going out with the boys so kids and I
went to Grammy and Gramps for dinner. We had fun having good dinner and
kids getting to play. On the way home the kids and I sang the Muppets
"Lifes a Happy Song" which is a very fun song from the new movie.
We've been doing more singing which is fun. A few weeks ago they had
Glee with Ricky Martin. Kasey and I have been listening, watching and
singing it as often as we can La Isla Bonita. Kasey also likes songs
from tangled, another song i really like called O Darling, etc. At
night the kids used to have me sing Hush little baby. I have now been
replaced with my phone playing O Darling or Ricky Martin's La Isla
Bonita. I like that they enjoy music. Landon has even started singing
some of the songs. He likes Life's a happy song, O darling and Mah na
mah na also from the muppets.
Also on the way home tonight Landon was asking about City and
Country. I kept thinking city we live in and the country we live in.
What he was talking about was living in downtown city vs living out in
the country.
2/23 - We had first soccer practice tonight for Landon's new soccer
team. Hes playing with some kids from school and a few others from
Allen. We are pretty used to very structured practices with the coaches
he's had, and tonight was a little different. As long as Landon has
fun we should be ok. He hasn't played soccer since last summer, but he
seemed to be doing pretty well out there.
2/18 - 2/19 - Greg and I celebrated Valentines today. The kids got
to go to the grandparents which they liked. We went to an early movie
with Doug to see Star Wars in 3D, and then went up to Frisco to
SilverFox steakhouse. We found an Allora wine which is one of our
favorites, We had good steaks and some chocolate cake. We got home
and actually went to be early. Of course we both woke up at 6:30am, but
were able to go back to sleep. I had aspirations to work on the house
and get some stuff done, but Greg just wanted to relax some. We did go
to lunch at Bonnie Ruth's and have their yummy weekend brunch buffet.
Then we headed to Bed Bath and Beyond for a little shopping and headed
to pick up the kids.
We went to dinner at 5th Street Pizza which was good, but it took a long time to get the kids food so they were grumpy
2/17
- After work we met up with Dave, Tracy, Elizabeth and Doug at Snuffers
for dinner. We were at a huge table, but still had fun.
Elizabeth was sitting in a high chair, and kids were waiving at her
which was cute.
2/14 - We had a fun Valentines day. Both kids had
school and little parties. Kasey had made heart valentines and Landon
made teddy bear valentines. Kasey went to the Dentist for the first
time today. She was excited and showed us her teeth. She got them
cleaned with strawberry fluoride.
Greg and I got to go to Landon's
Valentines party today. It was fun seeing the kids in his class. We
had made cupcakes for the party which was also fun.
Greg made us spaghetti and meatballs for dinner which was great as
usual! We also had some wine. Greg got me some flowers (with help
from Kasey) and got me a silly card. Thank goodness my mom and Greg's
mom got me chocolates :) We'll go to dinner somewhere next weekend.
Landon made a big heart with pictures and sentences saying who he
loved. He had mom & dad, Lady and Kasey, Grammy and Gramps, Grandma
and Pops, and Justin and Liam. On mine and greg's picture we are
holding a drink -Landon said we were having a beer - luckily it looks
like a drink with a straw in it.
2/12 - We went to Grammy and Gramps today to celebrate Grammy's
Birthday. We all had gotten her a new kindle fire - what she has really
been wanting. We had some yummy food from Uncle Julios, Greg's Banana
pudding dessert - Yum. Kids had fun playing. They got to play with
their Valentines gifts from Grammy and Gramps then they both played some
games on the kindle and had fun showing Grammy and Gramps how to play.
Fun times!
2/11 - We hung out some, went to get some new soccer gear for
Landon, and then Landon and I went to fun BDay party for his friend from
preschool Asher. The party was at Plano Theater - the kids got to
learn stage directions, act out, and put on a little play. They were
doing scooby doo, but so many kids liked Angry birds that the bad guys
in the story were angry birds. then they got to have cake (Angry Birds
of course), and then they got dressed up in all kinds of costumes and
put on the little play. It was cute, and fun different party.
2/10 - I picked up kasey from my mom to take her home. At one
point I got into the right hand lane which is always slower, and so I
said something about it. Kasey, said don't worry mommy, when people
slow down in front of you I will lift up my Soy and they will move.
Funny thing is that when she did it they moved... To cute
2/3 - 2/4 Today (2/3) was the 100th day of school. The
kids each decorated a shirt with 100 somethings on it. Landon painted
100 Ls on his shirt. Some of the other kids had googly eyes, baseballs,
jewels, stamps, etc. They also got to have 100 piece snacks - they
picked out 10 of 10 different snacks - luckily Landon brought some home.
I got to pick Landon up from school, and the we headed home and
headed out to Great Wolf Lodge for the night. They have wrist bands for
everyone. The parent wrist bands have RFID in them to unlock doors and
while you are checked in allow you to pay for anything on the premise
which is nice. Once we got everything settled and changed we got to the
water park about 5pm and started playing. Kasey went straight for the
"toddler park" and Landon wanted to go to the bigger kid part. We did
that some, did wave pool, Landon and Greg went on one of the big tube
rides (Landon didn't like it because he was facing backwards), and we
went on the Lazy river. After a couple hours of fun we grabbed some
pizza and headed upstairs to shower and get the kids in their pajamas
and eat. There is a story downstairs every night at 8pm (pretty late
for the kids, but we planned on it). There are electronic characters -
trees, squirrels, owl, girl, boy and a moose. The kids were actually
kind of scared until it started up then they seemed ok. They sang a
song about not being scared int he woods then one of the staff members
read a book. It was late for our kiddos so we headed upstairs. The
kids got to sleep in bunk beds. We had a wolf den room so kids had a
themed little room to sleep in. Landon didn't go right to sleep, but
did fairly quickly. Kasey on the other hand couldn't go to sleep - she
was probably up until 10 or so, and ended up crashing on the floor. I
guess she didn't like the bed. Greg couldn't get wifi working well on
his laptop so he went to bed early. I was reading and stayed up later -
not a smart move. Kasey woke up in the middle of the night scared,
Greg woke up with reflux and then of course the kids woke up at 6:30am.
Saturday morning we had breakfast in the room vs paying $20 each
for buffet, then headed down to play in the water park more. We checked
out and Greg was pretty cold taking stuff to the car. We played for
3-4 hours and had a good time doing different things at the water park,
but kids were exhausted and so were Greg and I. Landon tried another
big slide with me and likes some of the middle slides that we tried. It
was fun when we got there early and lines weren't to long, but he
didn't want to wait as they got longer. We headed out, had lunch at
fuddruckers, and then headed back to our side of town.
Except for the lack of sleep we had a good time. I think next time
we should stay for a few nights so we can do some things other than
water park.
Needless to say kids were in bed without to much complaining before 7:30. Hopefully they will sleep in.
