Updates - 7/28 - 8/30

8/30 - Landon has first day of PreK today. He has Ms Nancy for Mobile PreK and currently there are 7 kids in his class including him. He seemed to like it today, but really liked having Stay and Play with Justin. He also gets to see friends Liam, Jack and Chloe for the first 15 minutes as they all play together for the first activity

Kasey is learning more and more words. She said bus today and said hug last night.

8/27 - We went to meet Landon's new teacher Ms Nancy. I can't believe he's starting PreK. He will go to school 5 days a week.

8/15 - We to Amigos for dinner to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Then we went back to Grandmas to have Cobbler. Landon stayed at Grandma and Pops house because he was going to be there Monday while Greg worked

8/14 - we had busy day. Gary, Marisela, Haley and Ashlyn came in for the weekend. They came to Landon's soccer game that morning. The last few games Landon hasn't really been into playing like he was really into it. We told him to play well because his cousins came all the way to see him play soccer. He scored 2 goals and played pretty well.

After the game we went to Landon's Galaxy soccer team party at Gatti Town in Frisco. The kids had a good time playing and eating.

After that we went home for Kasey to take a nap, and Landon and I went to William from down the street birthday party.

After the party we met up with Grammy, Gramps, Marisela, Gary, Haley & Ashley at Great Wolf Lodge. We had dinner and let the kids play around. The kids got to play with wands, and then we stayed for storytime which the kids really enjoyed. It was fun to see everyone and let the kids hang out some.

8/11 - Tonight Kasey said fish and brush.

8/10 - Kasey started saying more words like eyes/mouth - she's been saying before, but also nose and ears. She also says the letter B. If we sing the ABC song she sings along to the tune but just says B. It's pretty cute.

Greg said that she was looking around the corner and would say Boo.

8/5 - For the past several months we've (mainly Greg) have been sitting in Kasey's room when it was time for her to go to bed sometimes up to 45 minutes. Part of the reason was that she would just throw a fit, and the other part because she kept throwing her blanket out. Last night she figured out how to pick up her own blanket if she threw it out and did that a couple times. Greg left her to go to sleep on her own. She cried for about 10 minutes then went to sleep just fine. Tonight I read her one of her favorite books - 3 little fish and the Big Bad shark, and then put her in bed. She was down and quiet in about 6 minutes.

Landon is on a trend to not mind right now. Everything from not eating at dinner to not listening when we tell him to stop dong something. We threaten to take away his blanket which really only works after we say we've taken it away. We've ended up with zero changes left the last several nights. Hopefully it's just a phase.

Landon likes getting money for his piggy bank. He knows what a dime and a penny are and what they are worth.

7/31 - 8/1 - We took the kids to see Grandpa. They were excited to go on a plane. We stayed at Grandpas house but went to visit him at his new place as well. The kids got to play putt putt golf. We also hung out some at Grandpas house and he got to see the kids play. Sunday we went to Nadines and she made a nice dinner before we left. Grandpa really enjoyed the kids and the hugs.

7/30 - Greg and I went to coaches night. It was at a new location downtown. Food wasn't quite the same, but the noise was better. We didn't get anything at the Auction - which is a first for us. We had fun though.

7/28 - Landon passed his first word list in phonics and moved on to his second one. The words he knows now are at, bat, cat, fat, had, mat, pat, rat and sat

San Antonio Vacation - 8/18 - 8/22

We took the kids down to San Antonio for a short vacation.

Wednesday, Greg finished work, got the kids from the granparents and came to pick me up about 3pm. We drove to San Antonio. It took us about 5 hours with a quick stop at Chick Fil a for dinner. We stayed at Staybridge Suites that is right by Sea World. We like staying there because the rooms are good size and there is a kitchen so we can store stuff in the fridge. You also get good breakfast included.

We had booked a 1 room suite with double beds and a fold out couch. We actually got a 2 room suite with 2 double beds in one room, a king bed in the other and a fold out bed. We had 2 bathrooms as well. Landon and Greg had their own bed in 1 room, and Kasey and I slept in the king.

Thursday we got up and got ready, had breakfast downstairs and then headed out to Sea World. The Dewers were in town as well so we met up for the day. We got to feed and pet dolphins, see Shamu show Believe (there were several killer whales and baby as well), go on little roller coaster with Landon and Justin, go on a roller coaster/log ride - the dads went with the boys then the moms went with them. The boys seemed to really like the rides. We had some lunch. Then we headed to a 4D pirate short movie that someone recommended to Anita. We all ended up walking out early because the kids didn't like bees and such flying at them in 3D. After that we went to the Azul show where we got to see dolphins, beluga whale, and several acrobats. Then we went to feed the sea lions and seals which the kids enjoyed. After that we headed to the shop to buy Kasey a Shamu puppet that she calls Mu, and Landon a dolphin he named Dolly to be his Shamu's friend.

That night we went to a local pizza place that had Chicago style pizza. It was really good. They even made Kasey a little pizza with no cheese.

Friday we went back to Sea World just us to do the water park. We started out at the kiddie area. Kasey and I played there while Greg and Landon went on the Lazy river, a slide and the spay town area. I was finally able to get Kasey away from the kiddie area and we went to the wave pool where we met up with Landon and Greg. We played in the wave pool, then went to the slide that didn't have any height restrictions. We took both kids, and Kasey asked to go one more time. Landon and I swam around the pool.

Then we went to lunch and they had a singing act with Shamu, a shark and a few penguins. The kids had fun dancing and hugging Shamu and the shark. Of course my camera was locked in the locker so I didn't get any pictures. That afternoon we all went to the spray area, and we talked LAndon into trying one of the big slides. You take a double tube so we would go down with him. Without shoes he barely meets the height requirement, but he seemed to like it. Landon went with me then with Greg. Greg and I each got to go on a big slide on our own. Then one more time in the wave pool and we headed out to the main area. We all shared a funnel cake, fed the dolphins one more time and then headed out.

Our hotel was like 5 minutes from Sea World. Both Thursday and Friday Kasey fell asleep before we left the parking lot. We stayed from 10/10:30 til 4/4:30 both days. That night we promised Landon we could go to Freebirds to eat.

Saturday we decided to go to the zoo. It was about 25-30 minutes away. The kids enjoyed seeing the monkeys, feeding the fish, petting the goats, feeding the birds nector and seeing other animals as well. We left around 2/2:30 so the kids could take a nap. We were all tired. So we rested and took showers. Then we headed downtown to one of our favorites La Margarita for some good Mexican food. That night we all went to bed before 10pm. Greg and I don't go to bed that early :)

Sunday we got up, had breakfast and headed out. We had lunch in Austin at 5 Guys Burger which was pretty good. We got home, went to get Lady. We had dinner with Grammy and Gramps and then Landon stayed there since he was going to be there all day on Monday while Greg worked.

Pictures 2nd half of July 10th to July 24th

On July 10th we were invited to 4 birthday parties, a baby shower and Landon had a soccer game, it was my dad's birthday, and Greg's aunt and Uncle came in town to celebrate his uncle's birthday. We went to Landon's soccer game, 3 of the birthday parties (splitting up for 2 of them), had lunch with Grammy, Gramps and Grandma, and visited with Greg's Aunt Jody and Uncle Buddy and family for a bit at the end of the day. Needless to say we were all a bit tires after that day...
