Some other blog updates - Feb/March

3/6 Greg drove to Odessa today with Pops. The kids and I had lunch with Grammy and Gramps and hung out with them for a little while. We had fun putting together some new toys and playing Wii.

After naps we decided that we were going to go get Pizza. Went to Durkins because they will make pizza without cheese for Kasey and I. As we were driving to get the pizza the song "You've got to Move it" from Madagascar. We also know the song and all three of us were dancing in the car and Landon and I were singing along. We had a great time.

After dinner we turned on Madagascar and the kids made some pictures while we watched.

2/27 Went outside with Landon and Kasey today. Landon and I played some soccer. Kasey kept putting the ball in the goal with her hands and she was very proud of herself. Kasey also kept trying to step up and down off the patio. Every once in a while she would just sit down on the patio to rest. It was cute.

Grammy and Gramps said that she said Grammy and she is calling Gramps something that they can't quite understand. Gramps also said that Kasey is trying to pick up multiple things at a time. She's also riding a big wheel at their house and loves it.

2/24 - after dinner Kasey did the sign for banana to ask for one.

Landon had soccer practice today and ran away from the group again. This is a new issue that we have which is really scary. He did it last week outside of a restaurant. He loses his blanket to sleep with, but doesn't seem to be having an impact.

Landon has pajama day at school. I think he had fun, but wanted to change as soon as he got home.

2/23 - She definitely did the sign for elephant tonight while we were reading a book. I had a conference call so Greg had taken milk upstairs assuming that he was putting Kasey to bed. My call got done early. She drank most of the bottle, and then also drank milk from me like she normally does. Maybe she's in a growth spurt. She also kept wanting me to do twinkle twinkle little star several times. She kept laughing every time I started singing. She's started doing the milk sign and crying when just about anyone puts her down. It's hard to walk away from that.

2/22 - Last night before Kasey went to bed, she decided to get down and play a little in her room. She got one of her bears out. I asked her to go get her elephant in her room and she did. Then I asked her to go get the dog out of her basket and she did. Then a little later she kept asking me to sing twinkle twinkle little star.

Mid Feb - Kasey hears Twinkle Twinkle little star in gymboree, and she does the sign for it. This weekend Landon was humming the tune to it in the car. Even without words Kasey figured it out and started doing the sign for star. Very sweet. Now we sign that song in the car more

2/19 - We went to dinner at Doodies tonight. Landon had to go potty. He said he wanted to go by himself. I didn't really want him to go off on his own completely, but I let him go into the mens room and I stood outside. He opened the door to show me there was a TV in there, and then he couldn't reach the sink so I took him in the womens bathroom to wash his hands. My baby is growing up.

Feb 6th - We celebrated Grammy's birthday. We met at BJs for a good lunch, and we got a big cookie with Ice cream for dessert - yum. After that we went back to Grammy and Gramps to hang out and play some Wii. The last two pictures of this album are a few pictures of the kids pushing around one of their trucks. They often push it around together which is cute.

Feb 12th - We had some really nice snow in Texas. It didn't freeze for the first time that I remember. The kids on the block got to play outside some. Even Kasey got to play some.

Feb 17th - Landon started his first soccer season playing on a team. He is on the Raptors with some friends from school (Justin, Parker, Alfonso, Asher), Liam down the street, Jase from tball, and a few other boys. The first practice was on Feb 17th and the first game was on Feb 20th. Landon scored a goal in his first game and he was so excited. The team played pretty well in that game. The last couple of games that we had have been tough because the teams have been bigger and faster than us so the boys had a tough time. Today's game was more like the first game. Landon scored a goal. He had a 1/2 goal/assist where he got the ball to the goal, and then one of his teammates shot the ball in through his legs. Landon counts it as his goal. Later in the game one of his teammates scored and then Landon "scored" again before the coaches could get the ball. Landon thinks he got 3 goals, and that's just fine. It makes him happy and helps him enjoy the sport.

Feb 20th - I organized for some friends to go to dinner together at Bavarian Grill. We had 27 people including 14 kids. From our neighborhood we had The Turners, The Hotzes, The Cracknells, The Studdards, and us. The Dewers and Cooks also joined us. It was a bit chaotic with all of the kids, but we had a good time. The beer and food is always good there.

March 5th - We celebrated Pops Birthday - Aunt Cindy brought over Abuelos and we hung out with the family. We gave Pops some games to play with the kids, and so we played them some which was fun.

March 7th - Liam turned 4 on March 7th. He had a fun party at a bounce house. The kids had a great time playing and of course having cake/cupcakes.

Kasey 15 months

I am very behind on the blog. Now that the Olympics are over hopefully I can catch up.

Kasey had her 15 month appointment on 3/1/10. She weighed 22lb 9.6oz (45%), 31 3/4 in long (85%), and 18 1/4 in head (63%). I'm not sure the height is correct. I think she's more like 30 1/2 inches. She is doing great health wise.

Kasey is doing great with signs. She tries almost anything we try to teach her, but she remembers several of them. She knows milk, eat, cereal, banana, fish, ball, shoes, bath, dog, elephant, light, phone, bye bye, bed/sleep, cat, airplane, grapes. She also signs to get us to sing twinkle twinkle little star and itsy bitsy spider.

Kasey is trying to walk up and down the stairs. She still needs help, but is doing a good job trying.

She's getting closer to taking 1 nap a day, but this changes depending on what's going on.

I started in March pumping at work just 1 time. Kasey is now drinking 1/2 soy milk and 1/2 breastmilk. We're also trying to get her to drink soy milk only out of a sippy cup in the afternoon.

Kasey is getting pickier with her eating. We always try vegetables first, but if she sees other things she would like more she just makes a fuss until she gets what she does want.

She's also teething more and more which can make her pretty fussy.

Blog entries I have been keeping

I don't think I've posted any of this. Here are some updates on the kiddos.

2/18 - Landon has been complaining last few days about his eyes and ears so Greg took him to the Dr this afternoon. He has 2 ear infections and had some wheezing in his breathing. He has to take antibiotics for the ear infections and do 3 breathing treatments a day for about a week. Poor guy. He doesn't have an RSV so that's good. They said he should be able to play soccer Saturday but should stay home and rest tomorrow.

Kasey is trying to do some more complex signs like Elephant and banana.

2/13 - I had to go out of town to Barcelona so I missed Valentines Day. I left 3 bags in my closet for stuff for the kids and Greg. I was hoping to give it to them before I left, but didn't get time to.

2/12 - The kids got to go outside and play in the snow. We had several inches over the last few days. Landon got to play with some friend from the neighborhood - Liam, Mia & Devon. Kasey and Peyton even got out for a little bit.

Apparently Kasey is doing the sign and saying ball. She also started crawling down the stairs some backwards in the last week or so.

2/11 - Lady had licked one of the kids plates after dinner. I asked Kasey to pick it up and bring it to me to put in the dish washer, and she did.

2/10 - Grammy says that Kasey said nana (for banana), hot, bye bye on demand, interacted with the computer program. When asked to close her eyes, she covered them and laughed. She also clapped with the bear.

Kasey was sick a couple weeks ago, and she was getting sick some at night. If she started gagging, I would take her into her bathroom so she could get sick in the sink. Anyway, she would usually want to brush her teeth after this. This past week she's been feeling fine, but when she gets done nursing she'll kind of gag and point to the bathroom like she needs to go in there. Once in there she really wants to brush her teeth. She has also started when I put her down to sleep saying Ma, Ma holding her hands up and signing milk. So of course I get her up to nurse her a little bit more, and then when she does it the 2nd time I tell her I love her and say goodnight. She's already getting to smart for her own good.

Kasey and Landon enjoy playing upstairs together in their little forts.

Landon has decided in the last week or so that he doesn't want to take a bath with Kasey. If it were up to him I'm not sure he would bath at all, but he will usually take a separate bath. Kasey's not to sure about taking a bath on her own, but she's also been tired.

2/7 - Kasey's next tooth broke through today (from her perspective bottom left front tooth). We bought her her first real pair of shoes today. We put them on and she acted like she didn't know how to walk. Greg and I both held her hands and she started walking. She seemed to like them for a while and was able to walk pretty well, then she sat down and figured out how to take them off. We'll see how it goes.

2/6 - Landon had his first soccer practice. He's on his first soccer team called the Raptors. He's with friends on the team like Liam, Asher, Justin, Alfonso, Parker. They start games on Feb 20th.

2/1 - This morning I dropped Kasey off with Grandma on my way to work. I was holding her and told her to give me hugs and kisses. She turned to me and gave me a big kiss. So sweet. I think she missed me more this last trip than she has before. That will definitely make it harder when I have to leave in a couple weeks.

Kasey is trying to eat with a fork more. She's actually pretty good at putting it with food into her mouth. She still has a ways to go getting food on the fork, but that will take time and she does try some.

Week of 1/25 - I went to Korea this week for work. While I was gone Kasey started doing more signs. She will do eat now when it's time to eat. She's also started doing some signs with a picture book - she did ball, shoes and fish. She's also using the sign for more often for various things.

1/18 - Today Landon had his school social for January. We went to Wigly Play Center in Frisco. I went for a long lunch so I could meet more of the parents and see the kids play. We all started out at the front waiting for the other families so we could get a discount. The kids were going a little crazy. Landon and Justin had started jumping up and down when they saw each other. One of the girls in Landon's class Sarah came up to Landon and Justin and put her arms around them like hey guys what's going on. It was really fun to watch them interact. Sometimes they seem so much older than they are.

Kasey was playing with an animal puzzle with Greg. He would tell her to put the cow on the cow, the horse on the horse etc. She would put the animal in place and clap that she did a good job.

In the last week Kasey has become more and more interested in using a fork. She can't really put food on the fork, but she does a pretty good job once food is on the fork to take it to her mouth.

1/16 - Kasey doing good job with sorter toy. She's also wanting to be more independent with eating. Last night she took my flauta off my plate and wanted to eat it. I got it back and started to break it up and she didn't like that. She did the same thing today with sweet potato fries.

12/30/09 - turned Kasey around in her carseat for the first time so she faces front.

Ft Worth Stock Show & Rodeo - 1/25/10

Landon got to go to Ft Worth Stock Show and Rodeo with Grammy and Gramps for the first time. Our cousins Cole and Lauren Cloud were competing with their heifers.
