Latest Big News

Around May 2007 I decided that we should start trying to have baby number 2 in March of 2008. When I put a goal like that in place I usually follow through with it. When we were trying to get pregnant with Landon we tried on our own for about a year, and then determined that I wasn’t ovulating. Because of this I had to go on Clomid and 2 months later we were happy to be pregnant with Landon. With this both Greg and I had the mindset that we’d try for a little while for number two have to go in and determine I wasn’t ovulating and get on clomid again.

Well March 2008 came around and we had a fun week trying including a great date to see Jim Brickman perform with the Dallas Symphony Orchatra (he basically plays love songs on the piano including Love of My Life which Greg and I danced to at our wedding).

A couple weeks later Grammy, Landon and I were going to Conroe to visit family so I took a test before we left, and it was negative. The next Friday (which happened to be good Friday, March 21st) I decided to take another test just in case. I had gotten up early to go work out so Greg was still asleep. Crazy enough it was positive. I told Greg, it’s positive, and he said “Really”. Again neither of us were really expecting our first try to be successful.

That night Landon and I went to have dinner with Grammy and Gramps and Landon told them new baby. They were excited and glad to hear the news. After Grammy and Gramps house Landon and I went to Grandma and Pops house for a bit to tell them. By the time we got there they had figured out what we were going to tell them and Pops was already making predictions that we’d have a girl.

I’m feeling fine so far. I’m really thirsty all the time, but they aren’t concerned with that until later in pregnancy. We have first sonogram scheduled for April 14^th. It will still be early, but we’ll be able to see if it’s just 1 and if everything is ok. I have a feeling we might have twins, but I hope it’s just 1.

Even before I found out I thought either I mentally wanted to be pregnant or I was. I have been more tired than normal and have a had a few very short headaches.

I went to see Jeanean (my midwife) March 26^th. They confirmed I was pregnant, and she basically said that everything in this pregnancy will happen earlier and bigger than the first pregnancy. The practice has gotten so big that they hired a second midwife. After the 12 week visit I will rotate between the two midwives and then whoever is on call when I go into labor will deliver the baby. I’m not sure I’m thrilled about this, but Michel Ann says the new midwife is really good so I’m sure it will be fine.

Started saying Mommy

Landon started calling me Mommy today instead of Mama. We went to FC Dallas soccer game tonight and stayed for about 2/3 of the game. Landon did pretty well. He shared his goldfish crackers with everyone including the guy working the section we were in. We also died Easter Eggs today. Landon enjoyed the colors and putting stickers on the eggs.

Conroe Visit

Landon counted to 3 out-loud by himself for the first time. He was counting faces on my shirt. We went to Conroe this past weekend to visit with Landon's cousins and his Great Aunt and Uncle. He had a great time playing with everyone. He started learning more about pretending. The kids were pretending that they were making pizza and serving everyone. The kids put playdoh on the "pizza" and it took a couple times for Landon to learn that you didn't actually take the playdoh and try to eat it. He picked up pretty quick though. Every once in a while Landon will just say Pizza remembering how they were playing. He tried saying everyone's name.

Landon continues to say more and more 2 word phrases like more fish, orange ball, big boo boo (he fell and hit his head on the side of our bed).
