3/31 - We had a relaxing Easter morning. Greg made us breakfast,
Kids did Easter Egg hunt, we talked some about what Easter is really
about vs the candy and eggs.
We then had lunch with Greg's family for Easter and my birthday celebration. Had some BBQ and great chocolate cake.
3/30 - Kids enjoyed dying and decorating eggs. They did some
stickers and did some with plastic that we heat shrinked around the
eggs. It was fun and they looked good. Landon had a friend BDay party
that we dropped him off at, and so we took Kasey to dinner just the
three of us. We went to Blue Fish for dinner. Kasey had tempura and
had a good time. We got to sit outside because it was nice out. Kasey
got to run around out side for a little while and then we went to
Paciugo for some Gelato. Greg took Kasey home to get ready for bed and I
headed to the Roys to hang out for a little bit before bringing Landon
home. We had some homemade Sangria which was great.
3/29 - It was good friday so I was off work. I for some reason woke
up at 4am and couldn't really go back to sleep. Then I got up for 6am
boot camp. When I got home Landon was up so we snuggled on the couch
and read some of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Greg made us good
breakfast with cheese eggs, pancakes and sausage.
We all went to Kasey's swim class at noon. She swam today without
goggles and seemed to do well. Then we went to Snuffers for lunch.
Kids were pretty tired from staying up late for Kasey's game.
3/28 - Kasey had her 2nd tball game. Her team got 3 outs which is
great, the team the played had almost all older girls. Kasey played
well with hits and paying attention in the field. She asked afterwards
if she played well and we told her she did.
It's funny to watch the boys (Landon and friends), there seems to be
some flirting with kids on Kasey's team (some of the girls are older and
closer to Landon's age). We had to kick the boys out of the dug out.
3/24 - We had totally lazy morning and a crazy afternoon. Landon had
cub scouts, Kasey had birthday party, and then both kids had birthday
party. Kasey had a great time and her friends birthday party. They
got to make crowns and color and eat and watch a fun video. what more
could a girl ask for
At the 2nd birthday party the kids and some of the dads including
Greg played broom ball. Kasey was super excited to be 1 of 2 girls
playing. Greg also had a good time playing defense. They all got
sweaty and had a great time.
3/23 - I got up to get ready for the gym. It was thundering and
lighting outside. I asked Kasey if it was raining outside. She brings
me my phone with the weather app up and showing the weather map saying
yes it's raining. I said Kasey the easiest way to tell is to look
outside. So she did and said it was raining
Landon's soccer game got cancelled.
Kasey had a friends
birthday party at 5pm. We were able to drop Kasey off with her friends,
and so Greg and I got to have dinner with just Landon which was nice.
We went to Mi Cocina. Landon wanted to sit in the bar area so he could
watch basketball. He said, anyway it's closer to where you can get
margaritas :) We had good dinner, and then went to Bonnie Ruths for a
little dessert.
Greg went to FC Dallas game so I had about 6 ladies over for a few drinks which is always fun.
3/22
- Greg took Landon to his soccer camp so it was just Kasey and i
hanging at the house. She wanted to play ring toss. Kasey asked me to
put on the Ricky Martin songs from Glee (I'm Sexy and I know it and La
Isla Bonita) which we both like. Then we turned on hits on TV. We were
really bad at ring toss (didn't make one ring), but we had been
listening and dancing to the music. After a while Kasey said maybe we
should play something else. We decided to play hide and go seek. We
both kept finding good hiding places. It was fun. Then we went up
stairs. Kasey played in bath while I put kids clothes up.
3/21 - Kasey had her first tball/softball game tonight. She was
very excited about her game. The team got 2 outs their first inning.
Kasey got an out, hit the ball twice and ran the bases well. Girls
game is pretty different than the boys. Overall they are more calm and
paid more attention. The team got 5 outs in all which I think is pretty
good for their first game I think.
After the game I took Landon to Yogurtville for some yogurt to earn
money for Norton. His friend Colin was there with his family.
3/15-3/17
- We decided a little late, but decided we'd take a short trip for
spring break. Friday i took most of the day off. i went to Kasey's
swim class, and we headed out of town after that. We went to Aunt
Mary's house. She now has her room all arranged very nice, has a new
guest bed as well. We enjoyed the visit. Kids loved being outside
with dogs, playing Wii, and eating good food. We all enjoyed tacos.
After dinner kids wanted to play Bunco with everyone. We played a
short game. Kasey won, and kept giving Cousin David a hard time that
he was annoying her. It was funny to hear it come out of her mouth.
Later once kids were in bed we played some adult Wii bowling. We had a
good time playing for sure.
Saturday, we had big breakfast at Mary's. We took our time getting
ready in the morning and headed to College Station. We had lunch at
Wings and More which is like a staple for us. We then checked quickly
into new hotel and headed to the game. It was crowded so we ended up
sitting in grass area. this was ok except it was sort of warm, kids
were tired. kids got snow cones, and later got to play on the
playground near where we were. both kids said it was to crowded which I
warned them, but they didn't want to leave.
Aggies ended up winning 2-1 against Georgia. After the game we got
to go on the field and throw baseball. it was Greg's first time on the
field - 2nd for kids and I. Landon and Greg enjoyed throwing ball
around. Kasey was in wine mode and didn't want to do anything even
though she had ball and glove as well.
After the game Greg and I decided we were going to the Chicken. Kids
didn't really want to, but we overruled. We played dominoes, had some
good burgers, and Sangria. What more can you ask for.
Then got
kids back to hotel for quick shower and bed. We were pretty icky. I
took a nice bath and read book for a little while.
Sunday morning apparently the kids woke up at 6/6:30, but didn't come
get us up until 8. Not sure exactly what they were doing, but nothing
was broken. We finally got up and showered and went down to breakfast.
We got to eat outside and the view was really nice.
Then we headed to bookstore for a little shopping and the baseball
game. The kids got asked to go out on the field during the national
anthem. They went down on the field before the game, sang Aggie War
Hymn with all the other kids, then as they introduced players they got
to go to the position they wanted to on the field with the A&M
player. Landon picked pitcher, and Kasey went with him. It was fun for
them.
Today at the game it wasn't as crowded so we got to sit on the 1st
base side. It's great sitting in that section with students doing all
the little things that Aggies do during baseball games. It was also
cooler which was nice. The kids were watching the game more which also
made it fun.
After the game the kids got to run the bases on the field. They really liked that. After that we headed back home.
We
got home and kids got on camera before the game on the field and we
were on TV during the war hymn at the end of the game. Pretty cool.
It was a great weekend, now back to real life...
3/10 - After Landon's soccer game on Saturday it rained quite a bit
so soccer practice was cancelled. We did celebrate Pops and Nanny's
birthdays though. We took Mexican food down to Grandma and Pops house
for dinner. Grandma made peach cobbler and German Chocolate cake -
both which we enjoyed for several days.
3/9 - started the day saying hi to kids in person after a week. I
also did some Zumba. Then Landon had a soccer game - he played pretty
well and scored only goal for our team.
We went to lunch at Elkas.
That afternoon I took Kasey to princess party. she got her nails and
hair done, got to dress as a princess and play with friends. She had a
good time.
That evening Kasey had a 2nd BDay party at bounce
house. Greg took her, and Landon and I went to dinner with Doug, Dave,
Tracy and Elizabeth. Landon and Elizabeth had a good time - there were
even silly comments about Landon and Elizabeth getting married. We had
fun though and enjoyed some good Greek food.
3/6 - 3/8
Wednesday, we met with a partner. After that we headed to the airport for our flight.
We
got to the hotel in Shenzen, which I thought was a really nice hotel
(Intercontinental). We had dinner in hotel which actually took a long
time. We had a few beers to pass the time, and food was pretty good.
Thursday morning I went down to work out. I ended up doing some
stairs and working out some in the gym with free weights. That day we
met with a potential partner/customer for multiple hours in the morning
and they took us for Dim Sum for lunch which was really good.
That evening we went to a huge buffet. The table mats were maps of
the buffet it was so big. We ended up trying some different fruits.
Both of them were really bad, but several of us tried them anyway. We
had some good laughs.
Thursday evening we had foot massages at 9pm, and then we headed
back. A few of us went to the ship bar at the hotel. It was a wooden
ship attached to the hotel. They had live band and local beer which was
great. We enjoyed ourselves having a few beers and dancing a little
bit too. I ended up staying out til 2:30 in the morning, but was fun.
Next morning we had 2 customer meetings so we met for breakfast then
off to meetings, then back to hotel to leave for the airport.
We
had to wait in line for a while to get into hong kong. It took longer
than expected so I didn't have much shopping time in the airport. I
grabbed some lunch and a few small things for kids.
I got to LA after how ever many hours. We get into long customers
lines, and then to get through immigration hey have us walk around
entire luggage carousel to get in line. This line took forever as well.
Luckily I made it in time, and of course when I get to flight area my
flight is delayed a few hours. Pretty tough when you've pretty much
been up for 24 hours. I will say that I flew Cathey Pacific from China
to LA - their entertainment system and food is much better than
American.
I got home few hours late, and mom and dad got me from the airport and took me home. I think we were all a little tired.
3/4- 3/5 - Got up to work out, had breakfast with the team, and headed to the office for day of internal meetings.
We left the office at 4:45, went to hotel to pick up our luggage,
took an hour car ride to the train station, sat at station for over an
hour - I guess traffic is sometimes very bad, took 1 hour train ride,
and then took crazy 30-40 minute car ride to the hotel. We had to rush
to the restaurant because it was closing quickly.
In the morning I met 2 colleagues to go for walk around the
river in Hangzhou at 6:30am. It was beautiful and nice to get out for a
walk before breakfast.
Tuesday we had meetings most of the day then headed to the airport for a 2 1/2 hour flight.
3/3 - We had to get up and take me to the airport for my China trip.
My first flight to LA had a mechanical issue so we left over an hour
late. Luckily my connecting flight wasn't far away and I got there in
time to board the plane. LA to Shaighai is over a 14 hour flight,
which is really long. I watched a few movies - go to see Argo, and I
watched Lincoln again which I had slept through quite a bit the first
time I saw it. I did some work to get ready for my week and actually
slept for several hours.
Luckily when I got to Shanghai there was a driver and car waiting for
me. So I got to ride in nice car for the 45 minute drive to the hotel.
The hotel we stayed in by the office was pretty nice. Asian theme,
but trendy as well.
3/2 - Landon had his last basketball game. He got 1 basket I
believe, but played pretty well. He got his 3rd white start for being
most Christ like. we are very proud of him. He told the coach he had
not gotten a red start for defense so the coach said he would give him
one of those as well because he played some good defense.
We went home to work on projects and get some lunch. Then Landon had
his first soccer game of the season. He scored the only goal for the
team and played a good game. It was pretty chilly so we were all
bundled up on the sidelines.
After that we went to Liam's birthday party which was at his house.
For some reason several of us decided that it was a wine afternoon. A
few of the neighbors went home to get wine and we all had a few glasses
which was fun. The party was cute with Hex bug theme, and the kids had
fun playing with Hex bug kits.
That evening I got the kids to bed a little early because they were
tired from a long day. I opened a bottle of wine and had to do
newsletter, pack for my China trip and get a couple things done around
the house. I didn't even have time to turn the TV on. Greg went to FC
Dallas game in the cold with Doug.
3/1 - I had a big event at work I was planning. We ended up setting
up and having the event most of the day. After that we had a happy hour
for one of my team mates that is leaving the group. A few of us went
to Wizards. I only had an hour because I had to go to Landon's Blue and
Gold Banquet, but when I left I smelled horrible.
Anyway, Landon had his Blue and Gold Banquet where he got his tiger
badge for completing first year. It was at middle school near our
house so we walked to the event. It was still light when we walked
there, but when we left if was dark. Landon and Kasey were both unsure
that we could get home in the dark. I guess they haven't been out much
at night.

February 2013 Updates
2/24 - We had a lazy morning. I made Cheese eggs which the kids love
(I remember loving it when my mom made cheese eggs) and muffins. We
had a relaxing morning. In the afternoon Landon had soccer practice and
baseball practice back to back. Luckily it was a nice day. Kasey got
to play with Katelyn at the park during soccer and played some with
Reese at baseball practice. Of course Kasey had to go potty so I drove
her home real quick. While I was gone Landon hit a home run.
After practice, Grandma and Pops brought over Cheesecake factory for dinner. I had ordered it ahead of time and they thought we wanted it 9:15pm so they had to wait for a while. It was a good dinner though.
2/23 - I got up to do Zumba, of course the kids had gone to bed 30 minutes late and woke up before 7. Which causes drama every time.
Landon had basketball. He got a 2-3 baskets, and played good defense and overall. We had to go right after, but coach gave Landon a white star which is the highest star for playing like Jesus would play. Coach told Landon that he was the leader of the team and did a good job. I was proud.
We went straight to a birthday party where boys played soccer. Last 5 minutes we played parents vs kids. We called it a tie.
After the party we went shoe shopping - Landon needed new tennis shoes and had grown a full shoe size. Landon found some light up star wars shoes - I told him that Greg would kill me if I got them. Landon asked if he would really kill me. I said no it's just an expression. Landon said so it would be like if it was almost girls night he wouldn't let you go. I said yea something like that.
Kids got Gatorade form the party and wanted some. I said they couldn't have any more today because they had had to much sugar. I told Landon he could take his to practice tomorrow. Kasey asked if she could take hers. I said are you going to run laps? She said no, I'm going to sit there and drink it.
Kasey helped me do dishes. She told me she is very good and helping with dishes
I had a few friends over for drinks to hang out. We ended up watching Burlesque and talking. Marisa made some yummy brownies too that we each had more than one :)
2/21 - My first day with Greg gone. I had stayed up til 1:15am working and getting stuff ready for the next day. I still got up in time to do a 30 minute work out, get both kids to school in time with Landon's lunch and Kasey's snacks for the whole class (Greg had prepared everything I just had to take them). I even got to work in time for my first meeting.
They were talking about being Green at school and they had a raffle to win a bike - Landon won it. Pretty cool.
We went to Grammy and Gramps for dinner. We had fajitas and margaritas which were good. Had fun. Gramps even made me a margarita to bring home, it was national margarita day after all.
I did some work and then watched a girly movie with my margarita
2/20 - Landon went to the dentist today. He had his other front bottom adult tooth coming in behind his baby teeth. The dentist said that that baby tooth wasn't coming out and it should be removed. He had his 2nd tooth pulled. They said that his top teeth are coming in well and should hopefully not come in behind the baby teeth.
Kasey was getting ready for bed washing her hands and she said something about peanuts. I looked at her and she said - I said peanuts not penis. I tried really hard not to laugh at that one, I didn't do very well.
2/19 - Landon and I got to go to science night at his school. We got to see baby chicks moving in eggs, a hawk that is blind in one eye, beautiful owl, learn about bio fuel and how to make ethonol. It was pretty cool, and Landon had a good time.
Landon told me that liked math and science. He thinks he's good at math and ok at science. He said I was good at math and science. Fun to have those kind of discussions.
2/17 - Since kids were at grandparents Greg and I slept in a little and decided to go to breakfast just the two of us. We went to a little crepe place right by the house and had chirizo and egg crepe, french toast with berries, and hot chocolate. We got to sit by the window which overlooked the grass and water area of Watters Creek which was really nice.
We went to pick up the kids and played a US states game with Grammy. We came back home for a while. Greg and Landon had soccer practice at 2:30 and so Kasey and I went to see Cinderella in the theater which was fun. Then Greg brought Landon up and we saw Peter Pan in the theater which was also fun.
We had dinner when we got home, and then got the kids to bed. They were pretty tired.
2/16 - Landon had basketball. Colin was sick so the game was different. Landon scored 3 baskets, and played some good defense. They played a good team so it was tough, but I thought he did pretty well.
We had lunch at Elkas, and then we had to pick up cans for Scouts for food (collecting non perishables for the community). Then we went to order Landon's baseball uniform. He is playing on the volcanoes.
Then we headed back to the house for a little while to pack kids up and hang out. Grammy came over and Kasey, Grammy and I went to Envy nails for manicure and pedicures for Grammy's birthday. Always fun for some pampering.
Greg and Landon played a little baseball, and then went for a bike ride.
When we got done Grammy took the kids to her house for dinner and to spend the night. Greg and I went to Houstons for dinner which was great, and then we went to see Die Hard (which I slept through most of it).
2/14 - We had fun Valentines. Kasey got to pick new pets with both grandparents for her and Landon. Kids enjoyed them. Greg and I got to go to Landon's Valentines party at school. We were in charge of games which is always interesting with 19 first graders. Kids had fun. I did notice this year that I think pinterest is wearing off on many people - most valentines are not simple ones anymore.
I had to work in afternoon, and then we had heart shaped Pizza that Grandma had bought us. We also got to have some Frank Family wine for dinner - that was our Valentine. Greg made us strawberry and raspberry shortcake.
Greg gave me Reeses Peanut Butter cups for Valentines and some older movies that I really wanted to see.
2/10 - Kids were a little restless. We went to lunch at Village Burger Bar, and then Landon and Greg went on bike ride to the school. I walked while Kasey rode her bike as well. She rides her bike slow, but I guess that's better than her being fast and reckless.
Landon and Greg saw a few friend and ended up playing some baseball. Kasey and I watched the boys and then we all headed back home.
2/9 - We often have busy days, but I think this one was one of the busiest.
Kasey came in at 7:20 and declared she was all better and felt fine. She was jumping off the walls. I went to 8:15 aerobics to try the new teacher out. She was ok. She doesn't do step which I was really sad about. She did a bar, kick boxing and agility which was a good workout, but not my favorite. She seems willing to try different things for the class so we'll see.
Then came home for quick get ready and headed to Landon's basketball game. Landon played a good game. He took the ball away several times on defense, got several rebounds, and scored 3-4 baskets as well.
Then I headed to Plano Senior High school for a summer camp expo for gifted and talented and special needs kids.
Headed home for a quick lunch. Then Landon and Greg headed out to put donation bags in the neighborhood for cub scounts. At 2 we were all at Elementary school near by for the Cub Scout Pinewood derby. Landon's car looked really cool. He made an A&M football field with aTm in the end zones, a field goal, and a 2 on the end. His car wasn't the fastest so didn't win, but he did get an art medal so he was very excited about it. It was fun for all of us. All the sisters were lined up to watch the race which was cute.
We came home for a few hours, and then Landon and I got ready for our Western mother/son dance. I wore my awesome cowboy hat made by Cassandra MacGregor of House of MacGregor. Other than that we basically wore button down shirts and jeans, but it worked. We met several moms and boys for dinner at 5th Street Pizza which was pretty simple and fast. Then we headed to the dance. We got a few cute pictures and then headed in to dance. Landon really wasn't sure and wasn't having to much fun, but after a while and after a cookie he started having a good time. As we were leaving he said that was a blast. The moms had a great time dancing and singing. We did the cotton eyed joe yelling Allen Eagles instead of the normal, which made me laugh. We sang some Journey, Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, etc. It was funny how all the moms knew most of the words.
We got home and Greg and I relaxed with a beer just hanging out
2/8 - Boys had pinewood derby checkin tonight that I worked at. It was interesting seeing all the cars and how some did it for fun and some were really serious about it.
Kasey stayed home from school and swim, she got sick some but fever went away for the most part. She just didn't feel well and didn't want to eat.
Landon got Knight of the week this week. We are really proud of him
2/7 - Kasey wasn't feeling well at Grammys. She had low grade fever and didn't want to eat. Other than that she was ok.
2/3 - We celebrated Grammy's birthday by going to Bonnie Ruths for Brunch - yum. We were all stuffed though. They came back to the house for a little bit and of course kids wanted to show Grammy their rooms, and doll house, and pinewood derby car, and playing football outside. We had fun.
The boys worked on pinewood derby car in the afternoon. Kasey and I played games and hung out.
Then we all went to the park to meet the Kearns for baseball practice. The girls did a little tball hitting, and the boys practiced fielding and hitting. The girls wanted to spend some time on the playground as well.
I ran to market street to get food for dinner and to Sonic for special drinks for the kids. We all watched the first 1/2 of game then kids had to shower and get in bed at half time.
2/2 - I went to aerobics since Landon had a 10am game. It was the last class for my teacher Amy who I've been taking Saturday classes from since 2000. Sad to see her leaving, but I understand. Hopefully she'll come work out with us some.
I made it just in time for Landon's basketball game. Our guys played a tougher team so there weren't as many baskets from our guys. Landon did play good defense, point and passed more to teammates.
You could tell a difference when they didn't get that 5-10 minute practice before the game.
Greg, Doug, Landon, Mason and Gary went to the Texas vs the Nation college football game. I guess it wasn't a great game.
Kasey and I ran a few errands (which she didn't want to do), then we played the princess game. My back was hurting from morning workout so Kasey gave me a back rub and we laid down to take a short nap (or so we said). Then Kasey was playing with my hair saying she was curling it.
2/1 - I put the kids to bed in my pajamas which I never do. They asked why I was in pajamas, I said why not. I got a glass of wine and watched a chick flick.

Then we headed back to the house for a little while to pack kids up and hang out. Grammy came over and Kasey, Grammy and I went to Envy nails for manicure and pedicures for Grammy's birthday. Always fun for some pampering.
Greg and Landon played a little baseball, and then went for a bike ride.
When we got done Grammy took the kids to her house for dinner and to spend the night. Greg and I went to Houstons for dinner which was great, and then we went to see Die Hard (which I slept through most of it).
2/14 - We had fun Valentines. Kasey got to pick new pets with both grandparents for her and Landon. Kids enjoyed them. Greg and I got to go to Landon's Valentines party at school. We were in charge of games which is always interesting with 19 first graders. Kids had fun. I did notice this year that I think pinterest is wearing off on many people - most valentines are not simple ones anymore.
I had to work in afternoon, and then we had heart shaped Pizza that Grandma had bought us. We also got to have some Frank Family wine for dinner - that was our Valentine. Greg made us strawberry and raspberry shortcake.
Greg gave me Reeses Peanut Butter cups for Valentines and some older movies that I really wanted to see.
2/10 - Kids were a little restless. We went to lunch at Village Burger Bar, and then Landon and Greg went on bike ride to the school. I walked while Kasey rode her bike as well. She rides her bike slow, but I guess that's better than her being fast and reckless.
Landon and Greg saw a few friend and ended up playing some baseball. Kasey and I watched the boys and then we all headed back home.
2/9 - We often have busy days, but I think this one was one of the busiest.
Kasey came in at 7:20 and declared she was all better and felt fine. She was jumping off the walls. I went to 8:15 aerobics to try the new teacher out. She was ok. She doesn't do step which I was really sad about. She did a bar, kick boxing and agility which was a good workout, but not my favorite. She seems willing to try different things for the class so we'll see.
Then came home for quick get ready and headed to Landon's basketball game. Landon played a good game. He took the ball away several times on defense, got several rebounds, and scored 3-4 baskets as well.
Then I headed to Plano Senior High school for a summer camp expo for gifted and talented and special needs kids.
Headed home for a quick lunch. Then Landon and Greg headed out to put donation bags in the neighborhood for cub scounts. At 2 we were all at Elementary school near by for the Cub Scout Pinewood derby. Landon's car looked really cool. He made an A&M football field with aTm in the end zones, a field goal, and a 2 on the end. His car wasn't the fastest so didn't win, but he did get an art medal so he was very excited about it. It was fun for all of us. All the sisters were lined up to watch the race which was cute.
We came home for a few hours, and then Landon and I got ready for our Western mother/son dance. I wore my awesome cowboy hat made by Cassandra MacGregor of House of MacGregor. Other than that we basically wore button down shirts and jeans, but it worked. We met several moms and boys for dinner at 5th Street Pizza which was pretty simple and fast. Then we headed to the dance. We got a few cute pictures and then headed in to dance. Landon really wasn't sure and wasn't having to much fun, but after a while and after a cookie he started having a good time. As we were leaving he said that was a blast. The moms had a great time dancing and singing. We did the cotton eyed joe yelling Allen Eagles instead of the normal, which made me laugh. We sang some Journey, Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, etc. It was funny how all the moms knew most of the words.
We got home and Greg and I relaxed with a beer just hanging out
2/8 - Boys had pinewood derby checkin tonight that I worked at. It was interesting seeing all the cars and how some did it for fun and some were really serious about it.
Kasey stayed home from school and swim, she got sick some but fever went away for the most part. She just didn't feel well and didn't want to eat.
Landon got Knight of the week this week. We are really proud of him
2/7 - Kasey wasn't feeling well at Grammys. She had low grade fever and didn't want to eat. Other than that she was ok.
2/3 - We celebrated Grammy's birthday by going to Bonnie Ruths for Brunch - yum. We were all stuffed though. They came back to the house for a little bit and of course kids wanted to show Grammy their rooms, and doll house, and pinewood derby car, and playing football outside. We had fun.
The boys worked on pinewood derby car in the afternoon. Kasey and I played games and hung out.
Then we all went to the park to meet the Kearns for baseball practice. The girls did a little tball hitting, and the boys practiced fielding and hitting. The girls wanted to spend some time on the playground as well.
I ran to market street to get food for dinner and to Sonic for special drinks for the kids. We all watched the first 1/2 of game then kids had to shower and get in bed at half time.
2/2 - I went to aerobics since Landon had a 10am game. It was the last class for my teacher Amy who I've been taking Saturday classes from since 2000. Sad to see her leaving, but I understand. Hopefully she'll come work out with us some.
I made it just in time for Landon's basketball game. Our guys played a tougher team so there weren't as many baskets from our guys. Landon did play good defense, point and passed more to teammates.
You could tell a difference when they didn't get that 5-10 minute practice before the game.
Greg, Doug, Landon, Mason and Gary went to the Texas vs the Nation college football game. I guess it wasn't a great game.
Kasey and I ran a few errands (which she didn't want to do), then we played the princess game. My back was hurting from morning workout so Kasey gave me a back rub and we laid down to take a short nap (or so we said). Then Kasey was playing with my hair saying she was curling it.
2/1 - I put the kids to bed in my pajamas which I never do. They asked why I was in pajamas, I said why not. I got a glass of wine and watched a chick flick.

January 2013 Updates
1/30 - I had a ton of work to do, so I decided to stay home and be
productive. I had to eat lunch so Greg, Kasey and I had lunch with
Landon which was fun. i did get a lot done.
We went to Mi Cocina for dinner that night. Kasey looks over at me and says look I made the Millennium falcon with her chip. It was cute
1/27 - Per my facebook post - It's been an up and down day. I backed up the new car to close to the garage, but Greg was able to get the paint off the mirror and nothing broke. I dropped my phone in the garage and cracked the screen, but everything still works and the worst part is in the top right where not much happens. Now I need to go work, but feel like just going to bed.
Also Kasey had a runny nose all day, but she didn't have fever. I didn't want to jinx that one.
1/26 - Landon had a basketball game in the morning. Landon did well scoring 4-5 baskets, passing some to teammates, and playing some defense. We had to sit up on stage because of the court the boys played on. Kasey and Drew played together. They ran around, played on ipad, and had to deal with another little boy saying they were mean when they weren't. It was pretty cute.
In the afternoon we went with cub scout activity with fire station tour of new Allen fire station.
Kids were a little crazy, but enjoyed it. They were running around outside before the tour and of course my kids got mud all over their shoes so they took the tour in socks.
That night i got to see Goonies - classic 80s movie.
1/25 - We went to family fitness night at Landon's school. They had activities for kids to do, healthy snacks, skateboarding, hool a hoops, basketball, zumba, boxing, football etc. Kids had a good time. Of course I dressed in more work out clothes and most other parents were in jeans. Guess I know for next year.
After we got kids to bed I went to Market Street to get some beer for us. Jimmy Buffer concert was on which was fun.
1/23 - I had to send an email from my laptop in the morning. Kasey got her little toy laptop out and was doing email as well.
1/20 - We picked up kids, went to lunch at Snuffers. Landon and Greg played tic tac toe - they played using math and star wars symbols which I thought was pretty cool.
Greg and Landon went to work on his pinewood derby car. Kasey and I went to a birthday party for one of her school friends. It was really cute. The girls got to dress up in princess dresses, they did their hair up (Kasey got a cute braid updo), they painted their nails and got necklaces, flowers and boas if they wanted. Then the girls did a fashion show which was really cute. They did a few games and songs and had cupcakes.
Landon was pretty tired so Kasey and I went to dinner just the two of us. She wanted Mexigo so that's where we went. We brought a little home to Greg.
1/19 - Landon had another basketball game. He had been practicing during the week on dribbling. He played an all around good game. He got 3 or 4 baskets, had multiple assists, and played good defense. 2nd half he was guarding the player on the other team that was really good. He played good defense with him. He got a star for all around good play which he deserved.
In the afternoon the kids and I went up to Kaseys room turned some music on and danced and
sang. We had a good time. Landon sometimes gets rough, but otherwise we had a good time.
That night we got to go out while kids stayed at the grandparents. We went to Seasons 52 for dinner and then to see Zero Dark 30 which was good. I even stayed awake during the movie.
1/18 - We had Kasey's Parent Teacher conference at school. she seems to be doing well and they don't have any concerns. We keep asking if she throws fits or gets upset with kids in class, and they haven't seen it. I guess both of our kids save misbehaving to when they get home. I guess that's better than doing it the other way. We will put her into PreK program next year. Crazy.
Kasey threw a complete fit going to dinner so Greg stayed home with her while Landon and I went out to dinner to Mi Cocina the two of us.
1/17 - Kasey has been potty trained during the day since she was 2, but still was wearing pull ups at night. She's been doing better staying dry at night, and so we decided Thursday to let her try going commando (no pullup). She did well for first few nights. Hopefully we have end in site of no pullups.
1/7 - 1/12 - I was in Las Vegas for CES. We had a good show for work. I was in charge from our group on the set up and making sure everything came together which luckily it did. We also got some good videos with our TITV crew there. We did get to play some as well in the evenings. I got to have dinner with my cousins who live there which is always fun. We got to go out for some dinners and enjoy Vegas into the later hours a few nights. We laughed a lot.
Unfortunately I missed Landon's first basketball game on SAturday, but Greg was able to video most of it. He's excited about playing and enjoying both offense and defense. His first game he got a star for offense sense he got a basket. His friend Colin was the only other team member to get baskets.
1/6 - We went to lunch today and worked on house stuff some. In the afternoon I took the kids for a biker ride. We went across Alma and rode to Landon's school. They got to ride bikes around the black top around for a while then we headed home. Landon is doing well, but still working on getting started. He can do it on his own but takes a little bit. Kasey kept talking about her kids during the ride and that they were on a bike ride as well.
1/5 - Landon had a playdate for a few hours, Greg was painting, and so Kasey and I went to the salon for manicures and pedicures. She loves it. They have a cute pink chair back so she can sit close enough to touch the water with her feet. She got purple toes, and light pink fingernail polish with flowers on her thumbs. She also got a virgin strawberry margarita which she thought was fun. Hers didn't take as long as mine and she was worried that I wouldn't get flip flops from the salon but I did.
1/4 - AT&T Cotton Bowl Day - We had lunch with the kids at home then took them to the Grandparents. We didn't get them tickets to Cotton Bowl because it was a night game. Doug, Greg and I headed out to Jerry World to do some tailgating. We set up and watched the A&M vs Alabama game before the game. With the sun out it wasn't to bad, but I still had hat on and blanket on me.
Dave and Tracy came by as we were starting to pack up to head to the stadium. We had pretty good seats. Up high but about 20 year line. It was a great game. Finally a bowl game that we weren't sure how it would end up but we dominated. Johnny Football played great, seniors did well, and the whole team had a good time (the fans too).
Greg looked it up that he's been to 12 bowl games with only 3 wins. I've been to 8 with 2 wins so not much better. Very exciting time to be an Aggie.
1/3 - Greg started working on painting our bedroom. He got almost half done. It's the last room in the house that hasn't been painted a color.
1/1/13 - I got up about 10am which still seemed early, got ready and went to get the kiddos. We had lunch with Grammy and Gramps and hung out for a while which was nice. Landon and Grammy had made some dessert that we had to try.
We had brought home some of the poppers from the party so we went out in the afternoon and did them with the kids. Kasey couldn't throw them down hard enough so on her own she started throwing them up so that they hit the ground hard enough to go off.

December 2012 updates
12/31 - Fredel had given the kids snowman soup for Christmas (hot
chocolate with marshmallows and peppermint) and so we made it in the
morning. We started moving stuff in our room getting ready to paint the
walls. You don't notice how dirty walls are until you do this. Also
don't realize how much dust and stuff gets behind furniture.
We took the kids to grandparents in the afternoon. Greg and I headed to see the Hobbit. Very exciting how many movies we got to see - kids and adults over the holidays. Then we headed to Blue Fish for some dinner. They said it was a 2 1/2 hour wait, but that the sushi bar area was open for immediate seating. We took that. We had some good Sushi then headed to Juan and Marissa's for the annual New Years Party. We had a great time with friends eating, drinking, setting off poppers with kids (their neighborhood kids are much older than ours). We ended up staying until about 3am. Staying up that late is getting harder....
12/30 - We found out that A&M was having an hour football practice that was open to the public. Greg and I decided to take Landon for a little while. The Allen Eagles coach was there so Greg and Landon got their picture with him. He's an Aggie was there to see a few of the guys that went to Allen. We got to see some of the players and coaches up close, and then watched some of practice. They were doing drills, and had motivational music playing loud during practice. It was fun to see. Landon liked seeing Johnny Football practice. We left early because it was cold.
12/29 - Kasey was feeling better so we all went out to lunch at Freebirds. Landon made his name out of foil. With new legos, we decided that Landon needed a new larger lego shelf. We found one at Container store and got that for him.
12/28 - Kasey wasn't feeling well today so we spent most of the day hanging out at the house. Greg and Landon got out some going to see a few movies in the theater - Monsters Inc and Rise of the Guardians again, and I got to have dinner just me and Landon.
12/27 - Kasey woke up at 6am getting sick. She got sick several times during the day. Greg took Landon out of the house to run errands and see a movie and be away from Kasey. She was actually ok when she wasn't getting sick. Poor thing. That's just how she gets sick.
12/26 - with the snow and freezing temperatures we just stayed inside. We slept in, kids were in pajamas all day, I didn't shower until almost 3pm. We never have days like that so it was nice. We watched some movies and ate left overs.
12/25 - I told both kids they could get up and go see what Santa brought, but they should go back to bed. There were some crazy storms over night. It hailed, thundered and rained most of the night. Kasey really doesn't like storms so she ended up in our bed. Between her and Greg both giving off heat I was pretty warm. None of us really slept very well. Kids actually let us sleep in until about 8:30. We needed more than that.
We got up for a small breakfast. Opened our family and Santa gifts and stockings. Kids seemed happy, and I always enjoy seeing them get excited. Next year we all should just give Greg money :)
We got ready, finished sweet potatoes and headed to Richardson for lunch. I had left my purse at my parents and left one of mom's gifts at home. I headed back home and met them on the way back to Richardson before the weather got to bad. Glad I got to say Merry Christmas in person even for just a minute. It was supposed to keep getting cooler and maybe snow. It rained all day long then about 1:30/2pm it started snowing. Big snow. It took a little while, but started sticking on the grass.
We had lunch with Greg's family and then opened presents with everyone. Landon spent time with cousins playing new Star Wars Angry Birds game he got.
We headed home and then the 4 of us went outside to play in the snow. In Allen we had 3-4 inches in our back yard so the kids had fun. Hard to make snowmen, but we made snowballs, snow angels and Kids just had fun.
12/24 - We wanted to have breakfast and not each much else til Christmas Eve dinner. I made eggs, sausage and biscuits.
We did it last year and signed up to do it again. A friend from high school owns a Pizza place in
McKinney (Durkins), and he has people deliver pizza to fire stations on Christmas Eve just to say thanks. We got to check out the new fire station in Allen with the new big fire truck and nice area. We also delivered to one other Allen station. They guys gave the kids tours and let them see the trucks. They were all very nice and appreciative of the pizza and fudge we brought them.
We went by Steiners for a little bit to exchange gifts for the kids. Landon and Kasey were glad to see Elizabeth.
We headed to my parents for Christmas Eve. We had a good time everyone opening gifts, had great dinner of tacos/enchiladas and fixings, yummy dessert (Greg's apple pie and Red Velvet swirl cake). Then we all played bunco. Landon and Kasey tied to win. We had a really good time. There is a big pink fussy dice that Kasey was super excited to get.
I read the kids night before Christmas on the way home so they could get in bed. Of course we had things to do to get ready for Christmas morning.
12/23 - Greg and I got to sleep in because the kids were at the grandparents. We got ready, and went to get them around 11ish. It was kind of last day of warmer weather so we got home and took the kids to a park near the house for bike rides. Landon is doing great on his own even getting better at turning corners. Kasey likes to go slow and talk the entire time about her kids and dad, and what' is going on with life.
After we got home, kids and I watched Polar Express which I love, and then we just ate cereal at home. We all were hanging in our bed a little later watching parts of Sound of Music.
Greg made 2 apple pies, made dough for homemade biscuits, cooked sweet potatoes.
12/22 - We had our annual friend holiday dinner with the Steiners, Doug and the Solis'. We went to Steve Fields in Plano which was great. Very good dinner, drinks and company.
Greg and I decided to go see Lincoln afterwards. After being up late all week, I fell asleep several times, oops.
12/21 - Had kind of a crazy week. Always a lot working, getting teacher gifts ready and normal kids activities. I ended up staying up til 1am several days this week to get fudge ready for teachers or write notes to them.
Friday I worked a little in the morning to finish a couple things up and then took the afternoon off. I smiled a lot when I was on vacation for a while. Work has been pretty crazy so it felt good to have another focus. Greg and I picked up Kasey from school, took her to her swim class, had a great lunch at Zorbas, and then we headed back for Landon's school holiday party. We were a few minutes late because of traffic.
Kids had run at the party. They got to have cookies. Several people brought different cookies, we were the only ones that made cookies. They also got to make hot chocolate. They could add marshmallows, peppermint and chocolate and sprinkles. Several of the kids wanted all of it. They had little dough toss in snowman's mouth and body. Landon and one of his friends were pretty confident because they were baseball players. Then all the kids got in a circle with their book and Greg read a story. Every time the story said left they passed left, and every time it said right they passed the books right. It was cute and kids had fun. Kasey really wanted to play but didn't get to, then Landon wasn't thrilled about the book he got because it was to easy. So Landon gave Kasey his book and all was well again.
12/16 - Happy 12th Anniversary to Greg and I :) We went to brunch at Bonnie Ruths which is always great. We spent a lot of time cleaning the house (not as fun). Then we went to Greg's moms to help with her computer. Landon and I played some football in the backyard. He's to fast for me :) Kasey and Grandma were raking leaving.
12/15 - I got up to go work out, and Greg slept through me getting up which is good. I got the kids after work out, and then we headed home. We all went to Elkas for lunch, and got to see the Kearns there. We did some clean up at the house in the afternoon, and then headed out to Kasey's Christmas dance performance. Her class did a little ballet performance which was really cute. We gave her flowers and she got her picture with Santa.
After the performance we headed to the Cooks house for a Christmas party. The kids had fun playing and we had a good time as well.
12/14 - After a long week, the kids were at the grandparents and Greg and I went out for our 12 year anniversary. We went to dinner at a nice restaurant called Mignon. We know the owner of the restaurant because he used to own a burger place up by the soccer stadium that we went to several times. We went early so there were very few people in the restaurant when we got there. They took us to the back for a little table kind of in a cove with a big circular booth that had a little Christmas tree and a candle on the table. It was perfect. We had a great dinner. The owner comped our desserts with yummy crepes. We were headed to the movie but had some extra time. We decided to have a MacCallum's 12 after dinner. We figured it was fitting for our 12 year anniversary. After that we headed to see the new James Bond movie. We joke because now with kids getting to see adult movies is sometimes rare. Overall it was a great celebration for us.
12/13 - The dealership called Greg just after 11 (they had told us the night before it would be between 1-2pm). They looked at our records that we were loyal customers to them and offered to either give money back or give us a 2012 loaner car with 2600 miles on it for the same price. After discussing, and looking at it we took the newer car. It's not maroon, it's black, but I'd rather deal with that then worry about things going wrong because of a major wreck with the other one.
I had taken today off. I spent the morning judging the science fair at Landon's school which was interesting. Then I went to meet Greg at the dealership to check out the possible new car. Then I headed to get my hair cut. It had been 4 months since I'd gotten a hair cut. I guess it's been a little crazy. Then I went to get Landon from school and he went around with me to do some Christmas shopping. We met up with Kasey and Greg for Landon's baseball hitting clinic, and then we went to dinner as a family. Now I know why Greg doesn't have time to get as much done during the day as one might expect :)
12/12 - We thought it would be fun because of 12 being such a big deal for A&M, but it turned out to be a rough day. I got a call from my mom that my uncle's health had taken a turn for the worse, and later that afternoon she called back that he had passed away. This was an uncle that was very special to me. He was my mom's only sibling. I grew up going to his house in Nevada, and I have so many memories of those times. I remember hearing the easter bunny outside the room we were sleeping in, getting into make up more than I should, playing games with the family, eating tacos, going to death valley, play with fun and different toys etc. As I grew up and my aunt and uncle came back to Texas we still got to visit them. I went to their house during college to relax and do laundry.
We went on a family cruise in 1999 after I graduated that was great fun. My uncle drove me from my wedding ceremony to our wedding reception. After Landon and Kasey were born we have kept going down to visit and spend great times with family. He was always encouraging to me and a great man to set example for many. He was married for 58 years to my wonderful Aunt, had 4 great children, and several grandchildren. Family was so important to him, and he will be missed very much. We know he's in a better place now. My uncle was such a significant part of my moms life as well. It's been tough on the whole family.
On top of this, we had a car issue. We decided to get a used car because mine needed more that $1500 in repairs, and we were close to getting a new one anyway. We had bought a used car 2011 Acura MDX on 12/11, which looked great on paper and in person and it was maroon which is great for any Aggie. Greg was clearing out the glove box and found several pages of detailed paperwork that the car had been in a head on collision and had over $6000 in damage that was fixed at the dealership we bought it from. Of course Carmax report and everything else had nothing about this.
Greg decided to take the MDX back to the dealership and confront them with it. He asked for money back. Of course at 8pm at night the key people weren't there so they said they would get back to us the next day.
12/11 - I picked Kasey up and was talking to her on the way home. We talked about what she should give Landon for Christmas, what she wanted, and what she wanted to give Greg. She wanted to give him a costume because he didn't have any. I asked what she would get. She said a ghost, Elmo or Cookie monster. I explained daddy probably didn't want a costume.
After dinner she got a chocolate that Grammy had given us. She came running in with it saying she loved chocolate. I was so proud.
12/8 - We had a busy day. Kasey, Grammy and I had lunch with another family with daughter, mom and grandmother. We went to Chocolate Angel in Plano which is always good. Then we headed to Eisemann center to see another friend from the neighborhood in the nutcracker. Kasey wasn't to into the first half, but she did good the 2nd half. We let the kids walk around at intermission. Kasey practiced dance some. We had a good time and got some good pictures.
That afternoon after some drama at home, Landon and I went to target to look for some things for his Christmas list. We also got a few toys to donate and birthday gifts. Then we met up with several boys from his cub scout troop (and their dads - which was part of the drama) to see an Allen Americans hockey game. At 2nd intermission the boys got to go onto the ice and pick up pucks that everyone was throwing onto the ice trying to hit a little can in the middle of the ice. They also got to give 5 to the team as they walked in and out of the ice. I think they had fun, and of course Landon stayed up late again and didn't sleep in again.
12/6-12/7 - Thursday night Greg got sick. He was freezing and didn't feel well. By next morning he was a little better but didn't feel to well. I took car in for oil change. It needs about $1500 worth of work, we are considering trading it in and getting a new car
Friday night we had neighborhood party which was fun. It was nice outside. They had snacks, a candy shop, hay rides in the neighborhood, crafts for the kids, a puppet show and Santa. It was fun to visit and let the kids run around. Of course they got to stay up later than usual.
12/3 - Kasey had her 4 year old dr appointment today. I wasn't going to be able to go then several meetings got cancelled so I got to go. We got her from school a little early and went. She weighs 40lbs 3.2 oz (83%) and is 40.55 in tall (68%). She was funny answering questions. She was asking her about good foods to eat, and what else you need to do. Kasey said exercise first which I was a little surprised, but we do say that a lot. Then she asked what you do to keep your teeth healthy.
Kasey said keep chewing. Anyway, she's doing great! Unfortunately she got 3 shots at that visit. She had a tough time and cried. We pulled out the blanket for a 1 day special occasion. We got to go to lunch, and she did ok. I ended up working from home the rest of the day which was nice. I kind of needed a lower key day after last week and weekend.
12/1- 12/2 - We thought when sports seasons ended that our schedule would slow down. Not the case. Saturday I went to work out, then we met up with the cub scout troup for a short hike and nature/weather discussion. That afternoon we had a baby shower for some good friends having their first baby. Landon and Kasey wanted to help out - picking up pencils from games, getting gifts to open and helping clean up wrapping. Greg was not so much into shower activities :)
Saturday night we made cakes and started making food for Kasey's parties the next day. The first cake got stuck in the pan, but it was great. The 2nd cake was to runny. The 3rd one turned out just right. I did simple decoration. I made two Rapunzel suns out of Fondant, and then iced the cake and put Rapunzel, Ryder, Pascal and Maximus on the cake. I thought it turned out cute.
Sunday we had two parties for Kasey. One at a great place called Kreative Kidz Parties. She had Rapunzel and a cute Knight hosting the party. All the girls got to dress up, play games, be princesses. Then they got to have cake. The decorations were awesome and I thought it was really neat. Kasey had a good time. I didn't have to do anything at the party other than take pictures and help with the parachute. They did everything else even making the party favors. YEA!
During Kasey's party Landon was with his cub scout den in a parade. He probably enjoyed that more than being at a princess party. That evening we had family party. We made strawberry shortcake, chicken enchiladas, homemade guacamole, and nachos. Good stuff. Kasey was super excited to open all of her presents. She had a good time, but we were all pretty tired at the end of the day.
We took the kids to grandparents in the afternoon. Greg and I headed to see the Hobbit. Very exciting how many movies we got to see - kids and adults over the holidays. Then we headed to Blue Fish for some dinner. They said it was a 2 1/2 hour wait, but that the sushi bar area was open for immediate seating. We took that. We had some good Sushi then headed to Juan and Marissa's for the annual New Years Party. We had a great time with friends eating, drinking, setting off poppers with kids (their neighborhood kids are much older than ours). We ended up staying until about 3am. Staying up that late is getting harder....
12/30 - We found out that A&M was having an hour football practice that was open to the public. Greg and I decided to take Landon for a little while. The Allen Eagles coach was there so Greg and Landon got their picture with him. He's an Aggie was there to see a few of the guys that went to Allen. We got to see some of the players and coaches up close, and then watched some of practice. They were doing drills, and had motivational music playing loud during practice. It was fun to see. Landon liked seeing Johnny Football practice. We left early because it was cold.
12/29 - Kasey was feeling better so we all went out to lunch at Freebirds. Landon made his name out of foil. With new legos, we decided that Landon needed a new larger lego shelf. We found one at Container store and got that for him.
12/28 - Kasey wasn't feeling well today so we spent most of the day hanging out at the house. Greg and Landon got out some going to see a few movies in the theater - Monsters Inc and Rise of the Guardians again, and I got to have dinner just me and Landon.
12/27 - Kasey woke up at 6am getting sick. She got sick several times during the day. Greg took Landon out of the house to run errands and see a movie and be away from Kasey. She was actually ok when she wasn't getting sick. Poor thing. That's just how she gets sick.
12/26 - with the snow and freezing temperatures we just stayed inside. We slept in, kids were in pajamas all day, I didn't shower until almost 3pm. We never have days like that so it was nice. We watched some movies and ate left overs.
12/25 - I told both kids they could get up and go see what Santa brought, but they should go back to bed. There were some crazy storms over night. It hailed, thundered and rained most of the night. Kasey really doesn't like storms so she ended up in our bed. Between her and Greg both giving off heat I was pretty warm. None of us really slept very well. Kids actually let us sleep in until about 8:30. We needed more than that.
We got up for a small breakfast. Opened our family and Santa gifts and stockings. Kids seemed happy, and I always enjoy seeing them get excited. Next year we all should just give Greg money :)
We got ready, finished sweet potatoes and headed to Richardson for lunch. I had left my purse at my parents and left one of mom's gifts at home. I headed back home and met them on the way back to Richardson before the weather got to bad. Glad I got to say Merry Christmas in person even for just a minute. It was supposed to keep getting cooler and maybe snow. It rained all day long then about 1:30/2pm it started snowing. Big snow. It took a little while, but started sticking on the grass.
We had lunch with Greg's family and then opened presents with everyone. Landon spent time with cousins playing new Star Wars Angry Birds game he got.
We headed home and then the 4 of us went outside to play in the snow. In Allen we had 3-4 inches in our back yard so the kids had fun. Hard to make snowmen, but we made snowballs, snow angels and Kids just had fun.
12/24 - We wanted to have breakfast and not each much else til Christmas Eve dinner. I made eggs, sausage and biscuits.
We did it last year and signed up to do it again. A friend from high school owns a Pizza place in
McKinney (Durkins), and he has people deliver pizza to fire stations on Christmas Eve just to say thanks. We got to check out the new fire station in Allen with the new big fire truck and nice area. We also delivered to one other Allen station. They guys gave the kids tours and let them see the trucks. They were all very nice and appreciative of the pizza and fudge we brought them.
We went by Steiners for a little bit to exchange gifts for the kids. Landon and Kasey were glad to see Elizabeth.
We headed to my parents for Christmas Eve. We had a good time everyone opening gifts, had great dinner of tacos/enchiladas and fixings, yummy dessert (Greg's apple pie and Red Velvet swirl cake). Then we all played bunco. Landon and Kasey tied to win. We had a really good time. There is a big pink fussy dice that Kasey was super excited to get.
I read the kids night before Christmas on the way home so they could get in bed. Of course we had things to do to get ready for Christmas morning.
12/23 - Greg and I got to sleep in because the kids were at the grandparents. We got ready, and went to get them around 11ish. It was kind of last day of warmer weather so we got home and took the kids to a park near the house for bike rides. Landon is doing great on his own even getting better at turning corners. Kasey likes to go slow and talk the entire time about her kids and dad, and what' is going on with life.
After we got home, kids and I watched Polar Express which I love, and then we just ate cereal at home. We all were hanging in our bed a little later watching parts of Sound of Music.
Greg made 2 apple pies, made dough for homemade biscuits, cooked sweet potatoes.
12/22 - We had our annual friend holiday dinner with the Steiners, Doug and the Solis'. We went to Steve Fields in Plano which was great. Very good dinner, drinks and company.
Greg and I decided to go see Lincoln afterwards. After being up late all week, I fell asleep several times, oops.
12/21 - Had kind of a crazy week. Always a lot working, getting teacher gifts ready and normal kids activities. I ended up staying up til 1am several days this week to get fudge ready for teachers or write notes to them.
Friday I worked a little in the morning to finish a couple things up and then took the afternoon off. I smiled a lot when I was on vacation for a while. Work has been pretty crazy so it felt good to have another focus. Greg and I picked up Kasey from school, took her to her swim class, had a great lunch at Zorbas, and then we headed back for Landon's school holiday party. We were a few minutes late because of traffic.
Kids had run at the party. They got to have cookies. Several people brought different cookies, we were the only ones that made cookies. They also got to make hot chocolate. They could add marshmallows, peppermint and chocolate and sprinkles. Several of the kids wanted all of it. They had little dough toss in snowman's mouth and body. Landon and one of his friends were pretty confident because they were baseball players. Then all the kids got in a circle with their book and Greg read a story. Every time the story said left they passed left, and every time it said right they passed the books right. It was cute and kids had fun. Kasey really wanted to play but didn't get to, then Landon wasn't thrilled about the book he got because it was to easy. So Landon gave Kasey his book and all was well again.
12/16 - Happy 12th Anniversary to Greg and I :) We went to brunch at Bonnie Ruths which is always great. We spent a lot of time cleaning the house (not as fun). Then we went to Greg's moms to help with her computer. Landon and I played some football in the backyard. He's to fast for me :) Kasey and Grandma were raking leaving.
12/15 - I got up to go work out, and Greg slept through me getting up which is good. I got the kids after work out, and then we headed home. We all went to Elkas for lunch, and got to see the Kearns there. We did some clean up at the house in the afternoon, and then headed out to Kasey's Christmas dance performance. Her class did a little ballet performance which was really cute. We gave her flowers and she got her picture with Santa.
After the performance we headed to the Cooks house for a Christmas party. The kids had fun playing and we had a good time as well.
12/14 - After a long week, the kids were at the grandparents and Greg and I went out for our 12 year anniversary. We went to dinner at a nice restaurant called Mignon. We know the owner of the restaurant because he used to own a burger place up by the soccer stadium that we went to several times. We went early so there were very few people in the restaurant when we got there. They took us to the back for a little table kind of in a cove with a big circular booth that had a little Christmas tree and a candle on the table. It was perfect. We had a great dinner.
